There are too many Unreal KZbin channels to keep up with. This is great high quality info. Please keep up the great work. Love that I found this channel!

Excellent work. Gave up on Unreal last year for creating scenes that our film making club could use for filming locations we could never dream of finding. To many errors were coming up when trying to render the scenes out, I was pulling out my hair in frustration. I have been asked to create a village scene surrounded by mountains, with a reveal shot of the scene,, basically the POV of the protagonist looking through undergrowth to reveal the view down below. So I am giving it another go. Trying to learn new tricks at 60 years young is heavy going.😁

oh btw, if you're using the Epic Games Medieval village, i don't recommend using game overrides :) That basically brute force loads EVERYTHING into the GPU during render and unless you have a massive computer, it crashes :P So stoked to hear that you're continually learning at 60. I hope to be like that when i'm older :) "Always learning, always improving" - Abe Leal

Great tutorial, I love to squeeze the best out of unreal, loving 5.5, feels more fluid. Got a question with regard to frame rates, what's the best for social media? Peace from Scotland

I want to add, if you're using a metahuman with hair, and that hair is hyper reflective bc of lumen, turn shading to Epic instead of cinematic and it should fix it.
@JonJagsNee2 ай бұрын
Yo, love your channel! Agreed with this statement here and I'll add that rendering Metahumans is a whole separate beast that makes me want to pull my non-reflective hair out. lol

I love your videos Jon! What about exporting in ProRes? Is it better than PNG Sequence? Awesome tutorial, as always. Cheers!
@JonJagsNee2 ай бұрын
I personally don't mind using .png sequences :) I did a study to see what I could find about ProRes but this was a few years go. May not apply anymore but it's worth testing :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eF7KnnVmoMtsrq8si=qQS1YKSL-MHUKArT

@@JonJagsNee Thank you for the link. I can't believe I missed that one. It’s super helpful for me since I am focused on optimizing my workflow for cinematics, rather than games. You are the best!

Amazing! Do you know how to remove gradient banding on rendered images? Even using setting Rec 709, sRGB, .exr sequence and Apple ProRes 422HQ and I still have gradient banding as we can see in your video on the background of the scene behind your object.

you dont use OCIO in color output?? just disable tone curve??
@JonJagsNee2 ай бұрын
You can and I personally do use OCIO :) However, most people don't have a ton of knowledge on ACES and what I care most about is a 1 to 1 conversion of my Unreal view port to my post processing software. Disabling the tone curve gets me there most of the time when I'm being lazy :) At the end of the day, i just want a pretty picture to post on the internet and share with my clients.

How do you render metal surfaces if you want to get super clean metal for motion graphics? the reflection value is 0.15-0.3

I've set this up to render, so looking forward to what happens. One question: if I have 4 cameras in the scene that I need to render the same sequence animation, is there a way of setting it up across multiple camera shots and rendering out all the shots in the render queue?
@JonJagsNee2 ай бұрын
Yeah man, in your sequencer (timeline) set your playhead where you want the camera cut to occur then on the camera cut track, hit the + button and select your second camera. Repeat for the other cameras and just render the full sequence with your multiple cuts. You can think of your camera cut track like a video timeline in Premiere, Da Vinci or Final Cut :D

@ thank you I’ll give that a try first thing. Appreciate your response 🙌🏼🫶🏼
