Your tutorials have opened up a whole deeper understanding of UE4 for me that I would be lost without! Thank you so much for the quality work you've put in and please - keep them coming! I really appreciate them and your effort to make things simple to understand!

Mate these videos are fantastic, your breakdown of the decision making system is really what i needed, and as soon as you bring up the notion of using curves in the logic for value falloff, i lost it with joy, you're bringing in concepts that add subtlety and a high degree of control to a system, and what you're demonstrating could be used for almost anything. thank you for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge, it's made my day... again. :D

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I enjoy making these, so its not really a burden. I just have some trouble finding the time occasionally (when my students are taking exams etc). We'll be looking at a lot of other things over xmas too.

I've been stuck this last couple of weeks helping my students with a set of assignments due in tomorrow (friday). So hopefully I'll get the time to get footage for the next part of this one over the weekend. I've probably got two more videos for this particular part of the Mob (threat selection). Anyway, long story short, should be over this weekend 6/7th December hopefully.

Thank you for these videos. They are currently the best resource anywhere for AI in UE4. I wanted to get your thoughts on saving off the potential threat actors in an array on the AI character then doing all the scoring on them in a "GetBestTarget" behavior tree service that ultimately sets the enemy actor rather than doing it in the controller. That was how I had controlled how often it would tick when I went through this same exercise recently. I was also curious if you could confirm if the set members in ThreatStruct is actually updating the LastSeen data in the struct for you? My data wasn't being modified when I tried this. Thanks again.

Thanks Brian, right now we're not updating all the threat scoring properly (that will be fixed in the next video). I had a think about doing the updates in the behavior tree as a service, but ultimately I don't think it matters so much (aside from the frequency update as you say). I'm going to try and get some time over christmas to work out a way of doing the Utility within the behavior tree itself such that it is part of the main BT editing process, then it would make sense as you say to move it into a service. With Mieszko adding the EQS system into experimental in 4.6 it makes sense to revisit the whole thing again to be honest. But I want to see this version through before doing an update. Ultimately I thought it was easier to handle the threats when they were sensed, but as the EQS system will be within the BT itself, it would make sense to move it there when I redo the tutorial for EQS usage (once its out of experimental status).

Hi! First of all thank you for your tutorials, they are of a great help for me even years after you made them. I just have a quick question. I can't find when you modify the "actor has tag node so that it can treat the array and I would like to use it with your last updated tutorial. Thank you in advance !

Hi Alexandre: You mean this function here? kzbin.info/www/bejne/gImTfImgZ52am6c The idea is just that you get all tags on the actor and look for ones that are in a array of tags you pass it. So it returns true if any of the tags on the actor are in the array of tags passed to it.

Hi Sir I learn a lot of things frm u in Behavior Tree you add node "Reset WP check" Please tell me what u add in this node thanks

If you have a look at the AI Guard tutorials on my channel. The later ones handle making the guard move between waypoints. I believe I show the Reset WP Check node in those. So you might want to review the AI Guard videos as this series carries on from the functionality of the Guard and extends it with threat selection. Hope that helps.
