Another thing, how you deal with live action shadows interacting with CG in unreal? I saw you used AE plugin to create a shadow from an image, is it just the only way around it?

If you use an alpha mask on your layer in Unreal Engine it will be able to cast a proper shadow into your Unreal engine scene. I cover this in my new UE5 for Filmmakers course! Since it is a flat plane however, the shadow may not be 100% accurate, depending on where your light source is coming from. So it's good to have both options. Hope this is helpful!

And the alpha mask can be casted considering the live acton video extracted and pryected into the scene for realism and could you export that shadow pass separatelty as well?

Question, does anybody know how to change the time of the video sequence inside engine?, and it seems, because is a translucent material, not change color as the opaque ones, i tried to tint a fog card so it matches my overcast sky but it only change until certaing point and it feels weird.

You can also produce wars, events broadcasted on meanstream media. Peolple will believe anyhing you want.

I just saw you cheated the shadow using an AE plugin, but is this the only way?

This is great thank you but why is it so many steps to achieve something so easy? Especially when UE has so many functions which are user friendly and easy to use. They should have something similar to Blenders 'import images as planes' which does all this in one click! Maybe a plug in for future please Epic :)

The material setup was fairly simple and he just adds some extra nodes for customizing how to composite the fog into the scene. for some reason playing back videos in UE is very complicated. Unlike Blender where you can just add a clip as a texture in a node, UE needs the whole media framework to be setup first. It's just the nature of a gaming engine using c++/blueprints. Every single asset you add to the scene has to be a data type.
