thanks for sharing common sense . there is a wildly popular channel originating from Tennessee involving two brothers that invariably drive their builds recklessly at high speeds on public streets ... often in an urban environment . i've called them on it , but i'm sure they've never read my comment due to the volume of admiring traffic they get . i thoroughly enjoy every one of your builds and appreciate your concerns for building a properly prepared vehicle . we would be proud and love to have you move to the US ... yeah , family , jobs , friends , etc makes that difficult , but want you to know that you're welcome here anytime

If you had been watching the videos, a couple videos ago he had talked about driving the Blue nomad and a motorcycle did a u-turn in front of him from the shoulder. And he was talking about how the brakes and other mechanical linkage need to function properly. This is likely why he is bringing this up again.

Dan mentioned being out of town, due to his real job, for a couple days. He must likely reupped this to give us something to watch and possibly learn from.

You are so correct Dan. Brakes are one thing you HAVE to have. Doesn't matter if you make 5 hp, or 6000 hp. When you need to stop. You need to stop. I've been selling parts for over 4 decades now and I've seen it all. I think? lol Keep the great content coming Dan and Danni!

Thanks for Re-upping that Video... I'm personally Sick and Tired of Paying "Stupid Tax"... I took my Sons Sportster for a scoot last week. I pull up to a Stop Sign, and here comes 3 Idiots (1 car and 2 Superbikes) doing easily 2 plus times the speed limit, on Main Street (people, kids dog walkers everywhere) as they go whipping by, the one idiot on a Superbike, makes a gesture (the look at me, I'm so cool; not the I forgot to wave with all my fingers gesture) and Pops a Wheelie for damn near the entire length of the block... IDIOT... Someone is going to Die, and you can be sure, that it won't be that IDIOT, it will be some innocent people, that happened to be in the wrong place at the right time... STOP BEING THAT IDIOT, PEOPLE... Thanks Again Guys, for putting this video back up... ❤❤❤

I'm building a Comet myself right now. Not building mine with an automatic, that video certainly helped cement that choice. Also not building it for stupid horsepower. Stock LS, 350hp and I'll be happy. Not some ludicrous 1400hp. That engine assembly probably weighed more than the Comet itself does. Good old saying, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow.

I've seen people at the part store order quickie line connects, I had to tell them, they still have to replace the line, it's probably rusted elsewhere too. Should only be temp, till a repair shop replaces the line too.😊 And another time, someone had a very old 1900s car, making a left, somebody smashed to them anyways and killed all four In the vehicle.

I have wondered since I watched that video of the Comet - does it not have an ignition switch or even neutral in the transmission?
@johnhere60587 ай бұрын
Dan, I suggested a couple of years ago to quit using the old solid linkage throttle assembly because one motor mount failure on the torque side of our engine will cause the throttle to open and that's when shit happens - use the newer style cable type - I know these things as I was loading my 55 Bel-Aire and my new side mount motor mount broke apart and up that trailer ramp I flew - Not something I want you to experience.

I don’t think the throttle stuck. Blower motors with a big hat like that like to idle high. It’s obviously a show car, meaning it’s not supposed to be driven. They just bought a bunch of parts that like cool and put it on a car. If it was supposed to be a driven car they probably would’ve put the right parts on the car.

Years ago I put a carburetor on a neighbors 53 ford f100 and had it running and tuned but told him do not take the truck anywhere as there is no carb return spring, the next day I wasn't home so him and my brother took the truck out on the road and the throttle stuck so he turned the key off but turned the key to lock as it had a newer Ford steering column in it and put the truck into a electric pole and totaled the truck, I didn't know he wrecked until I came home and my brother said he wrecked it and I thought he was kidding me until I went over to see it and I said to him what did I tell you yesterday not to do and he said don't drive until it has a spring on it!!!!! Lesson learned, next time I have that issue I will take the keys from them until it's fixed!!!!!
