@sdtn2220It’s definitely the parents’ fault, for not watching their child enough to keep him from getting through two barriers. It’s not called being a Super Mom it’s more like maybe not being a stupid one. Toddlers that aren’t properly disciplined or supervised are very unpredictable in their behavior, much like wild animals🙌🏽. That’s why you can either, 1) take them by their hand or , 2)strap them into a stroller, or 3) pick them up and hold them, so they can’t just run off from you because there are a lot of bad things that could happen to them. So if you’re going to raise your children like that, without discipline or boundaries, then take responsibility for what happens to them and don’t put that on others.

According to an article in USA Today, Matthew Ramsbottom, the boy Hanna still thinks about today, died in 2010 at age 41. But the loss of his arm did not hold him back in life, according to his younger brother Seth Ramsbottom, who lives in Knoxville. Matthew inspired others his entire life by playing soccer, football and racing mountain bikes with one arm, Seth said. He became a chef and moved to Wyoming to pursue his outdoor passions, including snowboarding. Seth said he never spoke to his older brother about how he lost his arm, and his family never talked about the incident. It wasn’t until about six years ago - after Matthew had died - that Seth’s dad talked to him about that day. And even in that conversation, Seth said, there was no hatred or resentment toward Hanna. “I have never heard anyone in my family say one bad word about Jack Hanna, ever,” Seth said. “My brother’s legacy is being an inspiring, fun-loving guy who other people wanted to be around. Pretty crazy thing to bring up on lunch with a camera crew to put on the internet. Jack don't remember much now but he should of contacted the boys parents years ago. His dad was brutally correct. It was his fault. Just because he thought everything was set and the boys mother wasn't doing het thing, the lion got the arm.

Revisiting the Family and expressing your grief for the incident may help you but it certainly will help them. Make amends. Life is hard and holding all this inside makes it even harder. My favorite word God has given is Forgiveness. Forgive yourself.

He feels regret. If he sees the parents, he might just say, " I'm sorry," and not talk try to soften his blame or talked about all he did to prevent accidents. I wouldn't be surprised if the child did ok, if he had good prosthetics and good therapy .

I never knew this happened. I’ve always loved Jack so much. I’ve watched everything he’s been on and because I’m such an animal freak I enjoyed his appearances. He always cracked me up with his sly sense of humor. I’m so sad about his diagnosis and really feel for him and his family ❤️🩹

That boy’s parents apparently weren’t paying close enough attention that allowed the boy to put his arm through that fence. Sounds like Jacks dad was a asshole that’s pretty harsh to put the blame all on Jack. Ya what a horrible memory to carry you entire life…😢😢😢

The boy died 8 years ago from this video . He didn’t die that day. I would say parents are more responsible than the zoo keeper. Kids are all over the place and parents let then roam everywhere especially if they have more than one. But life has risks. The child lived that is very important to know. Cars are taking out people way more than a zookeeper. That is why it is more of a miracle for someone to make it in this life. There will be trauma and. Kids have time alone and something dangerous can happen possibly death. Many of us can recall things we chose to do that could have killed us or someone else. We are blessed with life everyday. That child is still alive and saw the repercussions of investigating things that seem dangerous unknown. My parents were nervous for me all the time . I scared my mom that i tried furniture polish because some of it was on my face . She asked me if I ate it I said yes. I think I really didn’t though. Maybe put the too by my mouth or trying to open it . I barely remember. She had to ruh me to emergency. I was a wild girl. Boys are usually ao much more dangerous though especially when they had more testosterone in the seventies and eighties. For a boy to survive is even harder the curiosity danger excitement exeperiments. Kids don’t know that everything is so dangerous though. Adults nowadays seek danger and die often. They have lost their common senses or never had them and do way more . These people climb fences and borders to reach the animals now even though zoo still says dangerous and has multiple protections. It was nice to grow up with zoos as a child we didn’t know the purchase of animals was being done . I think i thought they were rescued ones or born at the zoo. There is danger with our own pets. Bites killing diseases. In other countries they are often seen as gross stay away from diseases danger. We have so many protections we have lost our senses of danger often. So people-will be unfortunately hurt or killed. That is a part of life too.

Oh my goodness... so tragic for all involved. ❤❤❤ Jack has carried that burden for over 50 years and I bet those parents have long forgiven any of his part in it, but if not, maybe they can now. Makes me wonder IF Alzheimers comes to help us forget certain painful memories in our lives when the mind simply cannot make sense of them. May God bless you all!❤

Yes, he should have met the boy after the tragic accident. It would have helped both of them. In fact, they may have had a bond that could have healed their hearts because both were effected emotionally. Rather than allow yourself a million guesses as to why the boy died it's best to know the facts because they may be quite different than you imagined. Again, he may have been able to help the boy and himself if he had met the boy after the accident. I know animals and you don't mess with a wild creature, particularly when one doesn't know you. This doesn't tell us where the boy's parents were. Maybe they saw Jack petting/playing with the lion and thought it tame. NO! Like I said, if an animal doesnt' know you then stand back, don't advance.

Would it be fair to say that we take responsibility for things that we are not necessarily to blame for? Besides, there is no telling how much safer people were because of the knowledge they gained from Jack's career and shows.
