Still looked like a pretty awesome night in the woods! Always! Kind of weird you don't have no acorns. Right across the lake it's insane how many. Haven't been successful on my target bucks so far. Always seem to be just out of range. Story of my life, lol. Passed one that looked like he had possibly broken horns. Maybe I should have taken him. Body was bigger than the rack, if you know what I mean. Probably a good buck. Oh well, maybe he'll make it through the season and come back bigger without the broken antlers. Last couple days a lot of movement. When I've been on the road today, lot of bucks moving between 12 and 2:00. I seen six bucks crossing roads, in about 15-20 mi stretch. That means something to me. Anyways Dale, appreciate your stuff buddy. Good luck everyone. This is what pumps our blood! Good stuff, enjoy every minute of it.😊

Great video Dale!! Yes you just never know Hunting big woods is totally different than ag areas. Up in my neck of the woods oak trees are few and far between hardly any. They rely on cedar

I have a good feeling you are going to have some luck Dale. With all the time you spend scouting and preparing for the hunt. It’s my year too since I haven’t shot a Buck in quite a few years. We are always optimistic… 👍🦌

You hit it right on the head Dale. Bucks that were frequenting oak flats earlier in the fall/ late summer have moved out to "greener " pastures.

Dale, great message on the reality of hunting. Btw, I like your style of hunting off the ground. I don’t have as elaborate of a ground blind but very similar. For me it’s a tricked out leafy jacket with imitation plant and leaf add ons, a turkey seat and ghillie blanket to hide my legs. Anyway, ground hunting is very doable the way you do it. Love the content. 👍🏻

Hardly any acorns where I hunt. Last year it was like walking on marbles.

Isn't it amazing how one year can change from another when they rely on one specific crop.

Great vid Dale. I’ve been setup over a spring fed creek bottom here outside of Pembine. Boy is it ever dry this fall. Walking in on Sunday morning before first light I sounded like I was walking on corn flakes. I bumped more than a few deer because of the noise. Bears are still very active in my neck of the woods as well. Thanks for another great video. Good luck out there.

thanks for the video.I have to agree with you.Corn flakes all the way.Good areas up there along the the pike river.

I recommend A little grunting with A grunt tube , bucks up to 3 yrs old generally will respond even if they're out of sight out of curiosity ....on Friday night did that and A yearling buck came in followed up by his grandpa buck about 5-6 yrs old , had him at 35 yards but A twig / branch reflected my arrow ....rack about 2 feet wide and heavy .....in Waupaca county , the land of Booners 🦌
@Buckman-1012 ай бұрын
oh man,,what a bummer.Great hunt though. we have mixed emotions up here with grunting and rattling,due to the fact there is a lot less competition.But i dont believe it would hurt.Probably play a few games next week,as it hopefully ramps up a bit more. Appreciate the comment.

Boy,sorry to hear about your injury.That had to suck. As far as getting out of the woods,the most lighting I use is the red light on my headlamp. I try to memorize the topography as I go in and out.Also I will use a tack when I have to make sure I don't miss a turn.
