@FaithLehan It's my opinion based on what I've seen. But I'm not an expert.... Serial killers often believe they are superior and that inferior people deserve death. In these case often small things that most people wouldn't even consider slights pick targets for them... in this case let's be glad this man didn't have time to add wisdom and experience to his knowledge.

I am shocked that they can't find poison in a person's blood without knowing which poison it is first.
@pennyp7382
@pennyp7382 5 ай бұрын
As a former lab assistant it's hard to explain but I'll try to give 1 reason. The magnitude of toxins that are fatal is almost endless. The exclusion or inclusion in a blood test would require sending the blood to a very specialized lab and would take a lot of money and time. Poisionings are rather rare so it would have to be suspected as the Dr. did in this case. @@jeffreyb8770
@serendipidus8482
@serendipidus8482 3 ай бұрын
@@jeffreyb8770why is that shocking. You think they can just see poison through a microscope? There are thousands of poisons ...elemental poisons like thallium and tens of thousands of chemicals ....from bleach to vitamin a to plant chemicals to ....so many...how are they going to test for thousands of things all at once? Even testing iron is complicated .... there are many formss of iron each reacts differently with a test material and each test material had to be different and each blood sample has to be processed differently. Thats why poison is a great murder tool. Its very hard to detect unless the symptoms are very obvious. Did you not do chemistry at school?

This video didn't tell the entire story. That family was a constant nuisance, daily with dogs constantly barking, loud music all the time, rhe kids racing around on ATVs and motorcycles, loud arguments, etc. Obviously I'm not saying they deserved it. But they caused it. Because they were the nuisance of the neighborhood. No one could live in peace there. People should learn to respect others as well. Also, the boys were confrontational and threatening when they would ask them to stop with the noise. This video portraits then as quiet, innocent victims. No, they had a house of chaos, and of anyone said anything, they'd be told off and threatened to shut their mouth.

Nobody randomly tries to murder an entire family because they're bored and want a challenge and a thrill. life isn't a Hollywood movie. There was a motive, he wanted his neighbours gone. Have you ever had terrible, loud, annoying neighbours ? If you have you'll understand how frustrating it can be, most people learn to deal with it and ignore it and move on with their lives but some people can't help but make the situation worse and this guy is obviously one of those people who would make the situation worse.

You're confusing wisdom, knowledge, intellect, and emotion. Emotion is not intelligence. It is feeling. And has nothing to do with intellect. Intellect is the ability to process and use information. Knowledge is information. Wisdom is experience. Many super intelligent people actually *lack* the ability to present with empathy... The brain is busy with logic, emotion only gets in the way. I watched another documentary about this case. Apparently George's wife complained about the neighbor's noise so much he got sick of it. That's when he decided to poison them because they ignored the warning in the note they sent. There was some suspicion that his wife was involved, but they could never prove it. He refused to implicate her claiming he acted alone. Also, the way the detective got him to confide in her was she pretended to be in awe of his genius. She played to his ego by flirting with him (his wife didn't even care) and telling him how impressed she was with his intellect. She would pose a lot of questions like "What would you do if...." as if seeking advice from him as one who admired him and appreciated him. The other documentary said the reason the mom was significantly sicker than the kids and husband was that Coke was her favorite drink, so she'd had more of it than they did. The daughter, who didn't get sick, hated Coke and didn't drink any of it the night the rest of them had.

Yes, I suspect the wife had something to do with it, because she was the chemist, and also poison is typically more of a womans way to take out a person. It would not be difficult for the wife to convince the husband to keep his mouth shut.

Okay, OR, let’s also consider, this happened waaay before health care existed for many less wealthy individuals. In my early 20’s, I used to have to pay out of pocket for my meds, and between that, and my prescribing doc visits, I was paying $400+ per month, because it was still cheaper than insurance, at that time. For many people already on a tight budget, that money for the emergency room visit was going to have to come out of money that was already earmarked for a different non-negotiable cost of living, such as utilities bills, or rent/mortgage payment. Not saying I can even speculate as to the state of their relationship, but plenty of people who did love each other still may not have been able to financially justify an emergency room bill.

To be honest, the guy isn't even a so called "genius". He left a pretty obvious trail of evidence and testimonies that made him a person of interest very quickly. Then left incriminating decisive evidence in his house after he moved out (the jeweler's screwdrivers and the bottles of chemicals with traces/residues of thallium). And later incriminated himself yet again by saying stuff that wasn't public knowledge that had matched what the case was about. Plenty of "less smart" criminals are more careful than that. Guy was a psycho narcissist without the actual intelligence to back it up... What a delusional piece of shit that man was. Glad to see the family got closure and the guy got an ending as painful as the poor mother he killed (as much as the justice system could provide, obviously, since so far it seems there wasn't a death by poisoning type of sentence).

I always find it interesting when people assert that it’s rare to unalive people with poison. Is it really all that rare or are they just rarely caught? From what we know about women serials, I definitely think that our documented data doesn’t match reality
@sarahissersohn5495
@sarahissersohn5495 Жыл бұрын
That’s a really good point! And also, should intentionally overdosing someone on an illicit substance count as poisoning? Because if so, I would suggest that maybe women aren’t the majority of poisoners, after all. A dear friend of mine was killed this way, and it wasn’t the first time her then-fiancée had shot his partner up with a deadly overdose including fentanyl; it had happened once before. That we know of. As far as I know he’s not been brought up on charges yet, for lack of evidence. She was a really cool person; I hope he doesn’t get the chance to do the same thing again, in the future.
@mintpastill
@mintpastill Жыл бұрын
Rare maybe some say if they compare to other crimes in procent but still not that rare in reality I think there is a dark number out there world wide depending the poison and symptoms and if the doctors are high alert to that idea and knowledge and are able to run test even and here sudden a whole family comes in sick with similar symptoms together that are life threatening. Maybe sometimes the obituary can spot a potential cause in some cases? So yes the data is only what has been found so far and with these big amount slipped through like cases of overdose with any substances and insulin cases. So rarely caught in that case i would assume compared to other murder crimes. And about the women serials as well as in open rings, and a couple doing it either if they're in on it with the actual same like minded stamina together but one is more in charge tho both are high alert in on it, some are in as ingroomed or gaslighted half knowing or non knowing even. When murders no matter gender combine and work together sometimes. I think serials even working together mainly each one during the act see themself as prior over the other in some way and raise their own part more than the partners ofc where it's baffled to hear when he is not even in a interigation room admits it's not like "they" kill just anyone..... so he ain't blaming someone else to get less sentence at that point but still admits right there he wasen't alone with it, probably she agreed with the kill of the dogs? And what else? What happen to his wife? is there any good info about them as couple or interviews of them both to see here on yt?
@raytracer5726
@raytracer5726 6 ай бұрын
I agree. If a person is game ended with a gun or a knife, it's undoutably a mordor case. But with poisoning it often looks like a natural cause. Also this is something a female ki11er would do (since they often lack the strenght), and people don't suspect a woman. With one of my relatives, there was a case when a husband drank a shot from a vodka bottle in the fridge, which was filled with pure 100% vinegar. The man died. The wife apparently filled the bottle and placed it in the fridge, knowing the drinking habit of his husband. But it was impossible to prove malicious intent, so she was never trialed. There are plenty of way to poison someone without getting caught.

George even went out of his way to try to keep his wife from being implicated! I remember this case from watching Mr. Ballen, as he also covered it! Very interesting video.

Ballen sucks. He always waves his arms about like a lunatic. What's even worse, he always tells us what the victim or perpetrator is thinking and feeling. Wth??? He can't possibly know that. It's absurd he would know what a dead person is thinking or feeling as they are dying. Insulting to the victims! I quit watching him. Good true crime channels present the case and leave it to viewers to imagine what others are thinking/feeling. Good for the comments section also.

The biggest crime this documentary presents is how a little over 30 years ago a WAITRESS could single-handedly support herself and raise her 3 children... these days a waitress can barely afford to feed herself forget about trying to raise a kid, let alone 3.
