This one particular verse really hit deep.. “O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both.” - Quran Chapter 4 verse 135. Bravo to the men who stand against his mother in this case.

When the defendant, Melody Ferris, in the Burn Pile Trial pleaded with the judge in her closing statements, he told her it was not up to him, it was up to the jury to declare if she was guilty or innocent and that as a judge his role was to set the sentencing. I have never heard of a judge overturning the jury's verdict!

Why is it necessary for a trial to have DNA from the suspect to prove their guilt? No one knew what DNA was (in law enforcement) 30-40 years ago. Were there no guilty verdicts before that? I think not

Damn, it's horrible enough that he killed her. But to send her dad over there, knowing what he'd find? WTF? Maybe I'm too jaded in that Tim sending her father over to that house shocked me even more than the murder itself. Everything about this was terrible, but if there was any "good" (and yes I use that term VERY loosely), it's that a despicable judge got removed from the bench and was replaced by an honest and fair one. Who the hell was that judge to overturn a jury's verdict? Though speaking of the jury, I'm actually surprised (very glad, but still surprised) that they found Tim guilty. It was clear he'd done it, but speaking from a strictly legal standpoint, pretty much all their evidence against him was circumstantial. They didn't seem to have anything that was truly hard and fast evidence. While I can tell with the benefit of hindsight, I can't help but wonder if I'd have been able to put the guy away with no DNA, no murder weapon, and nothing but circumstance? I'd like to think I would have, but I wonder. I've never had to serve on a jury yet, so I have no idea what I would or wouldn't have done without the benefit of all the info this video gives up to the part with the trial.

Nothing to gain?!?!? He’s the one asking for custody and 60/40 visitation. And if he got anything less than 50/50, he’d have to pay child support! The forensics did it for me. I don’t believe in coincidences.

I am not a detective, but wouldn’t you be able to prove who was on the bike by phone records since everybody carries their cell phone with them at all times?

Amazing recall from anyone let alone an 8yr old girl. He committed themost heinous of crimes against a child....in Texas it only makes sense he would take his own life. They probably should have predicted that much.

0:44 is absolutely heartbreaking. THIS is what our country’s gun violence epidemic does to children. We love to brag about how we’re pro-life, but have no problem allowing domestic abusers to carry around firearms and commit these types of crimes. No other developed nation in earth has this problem.
