What a fantastic story. I've purchased from them before and knew they were a start-up. But seeing all the details has been really educational. May their business continue to thrive and prosper!

I do agree with her .. the thick & big leaf hoya is much easier than small & thin leaf hoya .. they propagate faster also .. but most of thin leaf hoya have a stunning flower .. 😍

It is hard to hear the names of the plants especially it would have been nice if you could have put the names across the screen... Most of what's said is understood but not the names of the plants

I really enjoyed this video series. My dream is to open my own greenhouse and shop, but due to disability, I may have to wait for my next life.

What a beautiful greenhouse. For me Hoya Kentiana Lori lynn sunstresses beautifully and is super easy to grow. I would like to try more hoyas. I think they should check into solar or a wood burning stove.
@kathleenmurphy23793 жыл бұрын
They already have enough on their work schedule without having to worry about buying wood and keeping that going especially on a cold night. Then you have the Ashes to take care of and if you don't have a catalytic converter or a scrubber then people in the neighborhood are going to start complaining because of the smoke. I know on cool Autumn evenings I can't keep my bedroom window open and enjoy fresh air because I sit above my neighbor who burns wood because they're a little bit cold and all that smoke and smell comes into my house. When we first moved in I thought my house was on fire.

@@kathleenmurphy2379 . Thanks Kathleen. I didn't think about the smoke bothering the neighbors.
@kathleenmurphy23793 жыл бұрын
@@floridahiker1503 they would have to burn a lot of wood and I'm glad I alerted you to the fact that the smoke bothers some people. My son and daughter who are now grown when they were little they had asthma and when the neighbors burn things they couldn't even go outside. If you live out in the country the smoke wouldn't bother you but it looked like from the video I guess the last one they had close Neighbors. Glad you didn't take what I said the wrong way I meant no disrespect.. it was a good idea especially if you have a lot of wood around you but I think they live close to the desert at one point they were talking about so not many trees around

They should get solar panels 😄 one person I know had his monthly electricity bill from $600 to $100
@unsolicitedplanttalks3 жыл бұрын
We actually do have a ton of solar panels already
@kathleenmurphy23793 жыл бұрын
People don't realize yeah your electric bill will go down but there is the initial cost of the solar panels which can be a big upfront cost for a business... And solar panels have a certain lifetime... And I believe there's controversy in the mining of the rare minerals that are needed for the solar panels and some of these mines employ little kids in dangerous situations so just like you said the Coco husk is washed in salt water you didn't have to bring it home and use a lot of your own water to clean it which add salinity to rivers and streams so if everybody switched from regular potting soil to Coco husks what would the cost be to our rivers and streams and drinking water. Also my understanding is people are not paid very much and it's almost slave labor to clean the Coco husks. And don't get me wrong I'm not criticizing you at all for using the husks because like you talked about in this video you can go in and water all your plants at one time and the plants thrive in it I'm just saying you can't save one is better than the other until you've looked at all the ins and outs to say what's better for the environment. Love love love your Hoya! I could listen to you and your husband talk for hours and hours.
