Unstoppable mobilization in Russia: everyone is drafted for war, even cancer patients

In Russia, the Kremlin-controlled media have been banned from reporting on the mobilization. According to The Moscow Times, an unspoken order came from the administration of the President of the Russian Federation on the eve of the New Year holidays. The publication suggests that the Kremlin made this decision amid rumors of a second wave of mobilization, as well as a proposal by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu regarding an increase in the size of the Russian army. For more information about the mobilization process in Russia and how to avoid being called up for war against Ukraine, watch our story.

How can Russia forgive Putin? The humiliation will carry with them for generations
@protorhinocerator142
@protorhinocerator142 Жыл бұрын
@@slej2502 You guys are assuming there will be future generations. Children and grandchildren? Russia is killing off all the potential fathers right now. If they end the war right now and have any recovery for the population, it could take them another 30 years just to get themselves back to the broken state of demographics they had in 2021. We're watching an ethnicity get wiped out by its own leader. And if there are 10 ethnic Russians remaining at the end of this war, someone is going to invade them and make sure there can't ever be another generation of Russians. Countries are going to ask the cold hard question: What good have the Russian people ever done for anyone? And no this isn't about the USA. That's not an answer. We're talking about Russia hollowing out its own population. No remaining men of fighting age means no remaining men of getting married age. And no remaining men of working hard in the field age, or in the factory, or in the city. I've not heard of such a thing in modern times. I mean you go back a couple thousand years and you had the Amazon women, but they voluntarily separated from men. They didn't kill off all the men in Greece. We still have Greek people today. There comes a tipping point where if enough Russian men die, then effectively there is no more Russia. Their demography was already imploding a year ago. They weren't having enough children to create a realistic next generation. This war made everything so much worse for them. I seriously don't think there will be a "Russia" as we know it in 2025. Not at this rate. They're so screwed.

What makes me really sad is that Russia thinks this will all be forgotten, but I think russia has really shit on it's own chips here and it may never been forgotten, they have hurt not only Ukraine but the whole world in a time where nothing goes undocumented, this is a time where no one forgets because now there is a digital memory, sadly it seems like Russia still lives in the 1950's, even China wouldn't have made a massive mistake like this. Yes! Precisely! Personally..........I think women might be next up. After all, women have served in the military all over the world for decades. Just look at China, North and South Korea, the United States, and European countries. Single women first, of course, 21-30 years old to start off, then expand to married women without children, etc., etc. Desperate times call for desperate measures. We already know about the ever changing re-classifications for conscripting men, prisoners, and now men with life threatening diseases. I think that women would have to be the next logical group. Would this step trigger a mass revolution? Could this action be the proverbial 'stick that broke the camel's back'?

@Sonomacats This. The Russian people tend to do whatever their fearless leader says. It's not their place to question. They have a peasant mentality going back forever. The French people also had a peasant mentality going back forever. Until their king pushed them just a little too far. Then they had Bastille Day. They rounded up the king and all the nobles, and executed them in the public square. No mercy. It was very bloody and brutal, and at times they turned on their own. But they simply had enough. Even for the Russians there will come a point where enough is enough. They will come for Putin even if he has armed guards. I keep wondering when.

Yes, and it is so by design. With hydrocarbon revenues dropping through the floor, Putin's regime has no way to sustain the current population of Russia. Also jobless and penniless young people (that are already in the millions) might pose a threat to internal stability. That's why they're sent to war without any training and proper equipment - they're to be killed. If they also manage to inflict significant casualties on Ukrainians and capture some territory - even better, but it's not the primary objective.

I don't think China will be much different, other than the humongous population. but unfortunately, we may get to see that. If POOTler is stupid enough to do something like pop a nuke in Ukraine, we will almost certainly see it there, too. And yeah, it would be an obliteration. Russian troops would be out of Ukraine in VERY short order, I would predict about three weeks. People don't seem to realize that the materiel we have in that war is about 5% of the total we had at the beginning, in other words, 95% remains. And that 95% is ALL the far larger FAR more dangerous stuff, planes, helis, ships, cruise missiles, intermediate range missiles, etc., etc. Initially, for months, what we had in were almost exclusively 10-40lb 'BACKPACK' carried weapons. Now there are a tiny handful of our least effective MLRS, a few AA systems, an anti radiation rocket (anti radar), and a couple of others. We are all ringing our hands about giving them ATACMS, which is still a fairly short range weapon. Oh, and bombs like JDAMS, weapons like JASSM, and on and on and on. Russians thinking they have ANYTHING that is beyond our equipment, or even close in most cases, is ridiculous. The Russians STILL don't have anything resembling a real 5th gen jet, and we have for 2 1/2 decades now. We are now well into 6th gen development. The ONLY electronics the Russians use are foreign electronics, because they have no capability to produce ICs. One of the reasons they are stealing washing machines and the like.

@@TIRFemcel "that's a popular myth" They used it in the Winter War in 1939 when they invaded Finland without knowing *jack squat* about fighting in snow. Russia had known how to fight in snow *prior to* 1939 but Stalin murdered all his military officers when he was taking megalomaniac control over the Red Army so the institutional knowledge was lost and they had to learn it all over again. Lucky for them they figured it out before Nazi Germany invaded. Its also a "popular myth" that only Russia knows how to fight in the snow. And frankly, they don't. Not right now anyway. Most of their troops quit after the conscription is up so they have very little to zero institutional knowledge. And Russian officers are given almost no agency or decision making power so why bother to learn about tactics in particular conditions when you don't make orders in any case? And the Red Army itself is now led by oligarchs not soldiers. Oligarchs don't know jack squat about fighting in the snow. Ukrainians never forgot how to fight in the snow. And they have a professional army that isn't so mistreated that most troops stick around and make a career of it. A lot more do that than the US Army which probably makes the Ukraine army, soldier for soldier, the mightiest in the world. At least the most experienced without a doubt. Putin was an absolute moron to attack a country whose military is far more professional than his. But he believed he'd win for the same reason his hero Adolf believed *he* would win: racism. Racism causes the racist to underestimate his opponents. And that is what happened to both Adolf and Vlad.

Crimea was Putin's entire legacy and now it's likely he won't even have that. His legacy will be losing a war he picked vs a country 1/10th the size, destroying all progress the Russian economy has built over the past 30 years, killing 100k citizens, chasing away millions more, and losing Crimea. He will go down as a case study of how to not run a dictatorship. Dying for Putin has negative value if you care about the motherland.

Ok I'm speaking as a combat veteran. When we mobilized we had to go get medical, dental, legal and mental health evaluation. Induction of a man unable to be made fit to serve is a liability. Now being inducted into the US Military with cancer would be great. You would end up at a military hospital, salary, free medical care. If you were discharged then it would be disability and free care at the VA hospital. As an American civilian it would be unable to work, less disability and huge medical bills.

As a veteran you get free care at VA hospitals regardless. Its the best hospital system on the planet as well. Their stats blow every other hospital system out of the water. You literally *can't pay* for healthcare this good because no for-profit hospital is capable of providing it. I'm a patient at two VAs, and have also been to plenty of St. Elsewhere's and St. Hedgefunds, all of which tried to rip me off and who ignored their own timers they set to check on my vitals when I was in danger of a stroke. Those hospitals where you pay them money, they always abuse you; because they're so busy trying to profit off you they forget to actually treat you. They're so lax that prior to covid outbreak, medical errors were the top cause of death in the US. But at VA hospitals medical errors were less than one tenth of one percent. And yet, the corporate media always smears the VA whenever its mentioned. I guess corporations don't like excellence, esp not when it comes from a socialist, rather that corporate, source. I love Bernie Sanders but if I were in his shoes I'd be arguing for VA care for all, because Medicare still uses the corrupt hedge fund run hospital system that kills patients for profit.

But I'm happy to hear that there is enough food and medicines for people in RF, even if their prices have gone up (almost 30% during 2022). According to Russian statistics, sales of most common medicines has dropped this year, and so has the consumption of most expensive food stuff like meat and dairy. According to same statistics, consumption of alcohol has simultaneously increased by almost 10 %. Doesn't Putin sounds like Hitler? Hitler hated the Jews, Putin hates the Ukraine's, Putin's is killing men women and Childrens and executing elderly's destroying hospitals, schools, churches, and any infrastructure for the purpose to take the land. Putin is very much a sick person.

I'd feel sorry for him if he wasn't a pro war activist. I figure anyone pushing war had better be prepared to go die for it. But see its always old men who push wars. In this case its a young man, but he had what old men have: no fear of being the one to go fight the war. Now he doesn't have that. Good. Poetic justice. If only he could die more than once.

Russia must throw bodies at the problem since their weapon systems sxxk. The Ukrainians are smart. They developed much of Russia's military weapons systems. What happens when they acquire a nuclear device and a means of delivering it to Moscow? What happens, then? We should be training the Ukrainians on the F-35.
