Coach, I feel l like your tutorials will be more effective if we saw game footage of the move,slowed and broken down and , analyzed on how the defense responds etc... The clip doesn't have to be long.I just feel like people learn better when they see game play . Respond plz! Spam the like button if you agree ,so he can notice ;the comment!!!

I agree with you man. I think after he is done breaking down each step, he should go, "Okay, now this is what it would like like in a live setting" And then proceeds to do all of the steps he broke down as the move was intended to be done, you know? I think that would help immensely. Not necessarily in a game, but in a live setting would be perfect

I am trying to learn the pivot footwork, and I have viewed this vid several times. Each time I pick up something else, but I think I am slowly getting it. I did use the high rip in a game last night, because I saw the defender's hand was low, and it worked very well. I gained some space, took a shot and made it. So thanks for the vid.

How come Coach raises his knee at 9:25 but not at 8:51, is it just a preference? Also is it a travel if you really use that knee to propel you up seeing as it is the pivoting knee? Technically that's what one does in a layup.
@DAizzzzyable9 ай бұрын
I didn't even notice that he says you have to shoot before lifting the pivot at 8:51! Most people who are confused about the step through rules will at least let you jump off both feet! Wild. He's contradicting himself in those two examples. His one footed jump at 9:25 is legal, but he says at 8:51 that you're not even allowed to jump off two feet, let alone 1

Look at how other ppl shoot and where they shoot it from. Rebounding is about your positioning. If the ball is shot from the corner 3 and ends up on the other side, stay in that area where it'll bounce to you, it'll be easier to get it for yourself. The ball and rim usually works together, figure out how it bounces off each other. The blocking is just staying close to your opponent and blocking with the opposite hand they shoot from. You can't block a shot with your hand if they're shooting with their right, becuz it'll cause too much space to be created. But if you block with your left when he shooting from the right, it'll close that space between your hand and the ball.

Josie Zephir take better shots
@kingphil40737 жыл бұрын
Josie Zephir drive to the basket... If they realize you can finish at the rim too they will let you more space cause they will be scared to let you go closer or simply jump higher and get a better shooting form but the most important is to take smart shot ex: pump fake dribble shoot or do a step back
@jgoogle42567 жыл бұрын
Josie Zephir For ISO shot creation: learn how to sell fakes to get ur defender moving in the opposite direction. A good move is a step back, which when done properly has u jabbing so the defender expects a drive, then stepping back, resulting in an open look as the defender is left behind. Shooting form: if ur shooting a push shot from ur chest, if ur strong enough, practice bringing the bottom of the ball to ur eyebrow before shooting. Also practice a very quick, smooth release, just like how Steph Curry shoots. If u shoot it faster it can help consistency as well as range and of course gives the defender less time to contest the shot. Everything else: learn how to get shots off a screen, or move around relentlessly on offense so u can leave ur defender in the dust and get an open look from a teammate. Be sure ur going to a place that gives ur teammate a good pass. For example, if he's driving to the left but defenders are ready to block his layup, get ur ass to the left wing QUICK so that he can kick it out to you... Or maybe if a teammate has a defender ready to contest his shot, get to a place where he can pass it easily and effectively and where you will have a good look. This ties in to the basics of basketball IQ, which is basically knowing what to do and where to go in a given situation during a game. Sometimes u might want to drive, other times shoot. I'm just telling u how to get shots up

@ijuststandalone6 жыл бұрын
When starting a dribble lifting the pivot before the ball leaves your hand is a traveling violation. On a pass or shot it is legal to do so as long as the ball leaves your hand before your pivot contacts the floor again. Example: When shooting a layup on tbe move.the one/two step action is legal. If you commit a 3rd step (pivot down again) it is a violation.

Do you have to jump off 2 feet for a step through to be legal or can you step through on your non planted foot ? Huge debate I had with a trainer devininthelab. He was stating it to be legal to take an extra step off the pivot as long as the planted foot doesnt return to the playing court before you release the ball. My argument was, wouldn't that be called a travel if I was in the post after picking up my dribble and I was to take the same step through but on a fadeaway shot? I know that MJ & Kobe, the pioneers of the post moves, never took a step through when trying to hit a fadeaway shot, so shouldn't the same rule apply to a layup if you were to step through, it has to be off of 2 feet?
