I didn’t know cards like Brock would work if you didn’t have the same type of energy set to the deck. I assume this works for cards like Manaphy and Misty too? If so I have some new deck ideas!

Manaphy needs water energy use it's attack. So any deck with Manaphy would have theoretically have water energy in it.

Why wouldn’t they? The card itself lists its requirements, it specifies what sort of mons it may be used on, and that’s it. The wording on cards is very simple and in that way very specific. It’s why mew can copy crimson firestorm for free. The move doesn’t say “discard two energy” or “if you don’t discard two fire energy this attack does nothing”, it merely says “discard two fire energy”. If your mew happens to have those on him, he will discard them. If not, he doesn’t.

It might just be me, but Mew ex feels much worse in this meta. Possibly because Giant Cape prevents many Pokemon that Mew ex used to punish from being OHKOd by their own move.

try dialga + pidgeot it’s super good!! i found better success with 1 pidgeot ex and 2 normal ones. put a mew or tauros in the mix for some spice. i love your videos man hope the new set gave u lots and lots of inspiration (:

Just as a side not, I kind of dislike how easily splashable Mew EX is. Every single deck can run it and it alone can counter many other decks. It's basically as ubiquitous as Poke Ball and Proffessor's Research at this point.

Sadly this deck is hard to play if going first because its slow your dialga ramp and make you opponent get to attach energy first
