@@PseudoswedeI'm totally down to be a franchisee in Indiana... We have some pretty fantastic gun laws everywhere aside from 2 or 3 counties. But I happen to live in one of the "2A Sanctuary" counties where the police WILL NOT assist State/Feds or charge any non-prohibited-possessors for so-called "gun regulation crimes" (because ALL firearms/guns are fully protected under the Second Amendment unless someone has lost those rights after due process.) In fact, I've had officers in my small town tell me that they have naughty guns/parts and couldn't care less if anyone else does either so long as they're not used to harm another person or infringe on their rights. One dude was telling me some stuff and then stopped mid-sentence to say "...don't tell anyone THIS...and don't tell me anything you might have..." I couldn't stop laughing because I was like 'Well, that's good to know but I'm totally clean.' I also explained to him that I've studied all of the (unconstitutional) gun laws in depth and even mentioned that a couple "iffy" guns that he may or may not have had were actually totally fine. It was a pretty hilarious conversation considering that most of it started with, "what if someone had a gun that was _____." I got to show off a bit, explain the 26-inch OAL rule, pistol braces, and certain definitions that define the difference between "OKAY" and "Felony." I also found out that one of their guys was on the HMPD and knew one of my friends that I helped with his guns despite being 1000 miles away 🤣😂

Sisyphus is the patron saint of E1-E4s that was tasked with pushing a boulder up a mountain for eternity, only for it to reach the top, NOT be able to rest there because it is literally a point, and have it to roll down the other side of the hill and have to start again. That senator fearing Guam would capsize reminded me of an officer who asked me what powered a mortar system one time. This guy was convinced that a mortar system required electricity or propane to work. My favourite WMD story is the Japanese weapon that was set to drop on the U.S. 3 days later than fatman. It was a bomb that airburst and dropped thousands of ticks infected with the bubonic plague. The bacteria clogged the "throats" of the ticks, causing them to starve, but they would bite anything they touched, trying to suck blood, and instead infecting the hosts with the plague.

Captain King didn't know that we were bypassing Nasariyah. LTC Fischetti told before we crossed the berm that if we didn't keep up, we'd get left behind. Terry has a story that sounds kinda familiar. I grew up on a dairy farm in rural NC at my grandpa’s. Divorced parents kind of let them raise me. I enlisted in March of 89, arrived at my reception battalion at Ft. Benning on the 1st of July, started training in the 4th. Half way through 11B training I was “selected” to do additional training. I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. Harmony Church was an adventure when you see a lot of the other recruits living in those nice, clean, new “Star ships” or whatever the hell they call them these days.

He took command of our cruiser one month before our 2015-16 deployment and he would tell us about the operation whenever we asked about it and he’d always say there was no problems working with the seals. The greatest compliment I have ever gotten was when we were at a reunion a few years ago and he spotted me in the crowd, walked up grabbed me by the shoulder, spun me around, grabbed my hand and shook it and said hey boats it’s great to see you again. I would drop everything if I got the chance to serve with him again.

Another attempt to get my oldest nephew on... First enlistment, was in Bosnia for his first tour. Then was a local (Monroe county Michigan) bailiff in the Juvenile Court before he got married and reenlisted right away from his wedding. That tour, the easiest thing in the Navy. Ship's historian on the USS Constitution in Boston harbor (there's a mannequin there in period dress, which looks like him at his age then. ) Then, back to the Army, originally supposed to stay in Germany, and got sent to Afghanistan. Where he got his purple heart. Became a sergeant, but ended up in Colorado after the Army with a military contractor. His reasoning? "I was in the same uniforms, using the same weapons, similar work. With overtime. "😁 He finally got out of that, back near much to his family (they live in Northern Monroe county, Michigan and he and his wife and kids (he adopted her most of the kids from her family. Ultimately I think 10, total. He has been, if I remember correctly, got several medals (either 2 purple hearts and the Silver Star, or the other way. Had a convoy hit an IED, after he'd get a sergeant...) I think he's kinda like a cross between Eli and the Fat Electrician. Got good stories, I'm sure, and big on military history. Was the ship's historian on the USS Constitution. And he's seen combat in several theaters... He's in Clinton, Michigan now. Less than an hour away from his mom's home. Name is Nathaniel (Nathan or Nate) Brown. His initial reasoning? "I want to fight American enemies." And his son is currently in the US Marines.

@@ginacalabrese3869 Yeah I knew the SMAW had a TB warhead but I coulda swore I read somewhere a few months ago there was one for the AT4 as well, but now I can't find the link. Is this the Mandela Effect or do I need a prescription for schizophrenia meds? This is wild.

Ethan, that's me too bro, I may have had it once but not now. And it's funny, I am the same age as Terry, signed up in 92, but completely opposite. I did months of research and went in the army signal corps. Thought I would get out and get a 6 figure job in the tech industy😂 some 20 odd years later here I am working for the railroad and still getting rained on.

HLC I feel ya 😂 I was in Delta 1/46 at Knox for basic and we were in red phase until our last week of basic because guys kept getting caught selling pain pills, doing pills, dipping/smoking etc.. our senior DS Evans said we were by FAR the worst platoon he ever had. And he was all calm and serious when he said it, like out of concern not anger. 😂

HLC's reference to Arkansas nuclear mishap happened at a Titan missile site near Damascus in 1980. There are books and documentaries about it. PBS American Experience episode Command and Control is based on Eric Schlosser's book. Interviews with people who were there.

Man you guys need a bigger table. Like every 3 months just add an extra chair because I want HLC as a more regular guest Also, I can’t remember their name but I saw a video about Helene relief, and they were talking about how they got involved with some veterans who were running a very large relief effort and they were taken aback by the amount of recon info they were getting. If you got one of those vets on, that would be a cool story.

The boys need to talk to more of old guys I joined the USAF in Oct 1991, became a Security Policeman (was too tall to be aircrew), went to Germany, first deployment Mogadishu, Somalia Jan 93. Retired Nov 2011. Have to make sure my stories don’t violate OPSEC, COMSEC or statute of limitations….

My rules of engagement revolved around protecting air operations. My rules were 1) if an armed Somali is on the airfield, neutralize the threat. 2) if a technical vehicle can affect air operations on base or off, neutralize the threat. 3) Engage muzzle flashes as needed. Or follow the use of force model at the time that consisted of opportunity, intent, capability.

For those who are interested, the fastest man made object title sits with the Parker Solar Probe, which was designed to go super close to the sun and do research before getting out. The resultant slingshot got up to 395,000 miles per hour. This is about half a percent of the speed of light.

1:53:30 That firing squad method is currently used by Utah. It's five .30-30 rifles. Four of them are loaded with silver tips and one with a blank. The rifles are also in a vice aimed center mass so there's no missing or undue suffering.
