the entire game is a cinematic michael bay film on steroids, the stratagems make you feel like a divine powerful being and then you realize with 3 hits how quickly you can get absolutely smoked, team work is absolutely necessary you don't even need to speak on mic, the game is amazing and I absolutely adore it.

Absolutely love the quiet stillness at the start of these mission types, because anyone who's done them knows that it wont be long before it devolves into utter chaos. Thats not to say other mission types dont, but stationary defense type missions are always almost constantly this chaotic and if they arent, then its time to try a higher difficulty tier

I remember downloading based on hype alone the 2nd or 3rd week. The training was your standard training mission, but one my first mission, watching other Helldivers use strategems and completely annihilate bug nests and and swarms while I'm just plinking away with my machine gun, and seeing those massive explosions just had me in awe.

The ONLY THING wrong with this game is that it's online only. This a game that defies all logic in terms of how good it is. I've been playing video games since 1979 and nothing comes close to what this game has accomplished on almost every level. To think that one day, when those servers finally go down and Arrowhead folds that this masterpiece of entertainment, fun and excitement will be lost forever, is stupid to me. I still have game systems AND games that are functional and playable from 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1999, 2002, 2011 and of course my computers, Mac and PC's. But a game that's as graphically insane as this, with these game play mechanics, this environment and consummate replayability? For this not to be available for all time is fucking criminal.

The only thing that holds me back from really wanting to play the game is there's still an element of strat you need to survive playing with friends and it's not really meant to be played alone. I'm a loner and I want to play a game that I will win without strat not because I don't like a challenge but want to fully relax and not be stressed out in trying to survive.

You can still be effective even with the standard liberator and machine gun that you get early in the game. I play with randoms most of the time on Super Helldive missions, ranging from level 10-150. If you’re not already comfortable with taking down heavy enemy types yourself, stick with another Helldiver and give them covering fire. Even gunfire at the direction of Automatons make them miss more often, eventually you’ll kill it or the seasoned veteran will. Either way, win or lose, I never had a match where someone is negative because we all adhere to the motto: “If at first you don’t succeed, dive again, and again, and again, and again, and again.” If someone does give you crap for it, they’re literally the .01% of the playerbase in this game because out of my 1.4k hours in game, I RARELY have a prima-donna. So just dive in and have fun. There is in game voice chat. Solo gameplay is possible and challenging, but Spreading Democracy is so much better with a team. Although there’s a guy called Sarge on YT who does solo dives all the time.

Progression doesn't give you outright better tools, first available support weapon (MG-43 Machine Gun) is really strong and is being used on max difficulty frequently, especially on the new faction. Sure, there are some better or worse weapons or stratagems, but you can't really go wrong with trying out stuff and figuring it out for yourself, imo everything right now is useable even if its not optimal.

@@gamerforever3654 This game is definitely worth it. I have 1.3k+ hours and I am still not bored of it. It’s a fun pick up game to play with friends or with randoms. Most of my clips come from playing with randoms. You’ll have a fun time - there’s no other gameplay like Helldivers 2 in terms of pure action packed cinema.

Eh, this isn't really that kind of game. You can play a single mission for one session and log off for two weeks and come back and get rewards for major orders you weren't even logged in for. For me the best reward in the game is just getting to play it more, it feels great to play and offers a good deal of challenge with opportunities to do some really cinematic looking shit and feel like a badass. I play it a few times a week and I don't ever feel like I'm missing out on anything. You get "personal orders" which are almost like daily quests but you get the same reward as completing about 2 missions at a higher difficulty, so you're never "missing out" on anything, it's all stuff you can just get by playing normally. They very rarely might drop some event armor or something like with the Game Awards, but they are usually very good about making sure people who don't have the time to play every day still get a chance when there's limited stuff released.

theres a reason helldivers has more players than space marine. hell divers is cheaper as well. I have both and hell divers was way more replay value as well. and its definetly not a play everyday game. there are community objective that everyone takes part in but even if you dont take part in it, when you eventually hop on a couple days later you will still get all the rewards for the objective

its a chaos. awesomely made explosions etc, but there is not too much of a great battle winning impressions. all this atacks should be carefully directed, some motion capture stunts of youre defencing army made. this should look beautyful and impressive by its meaning, not only explosions 😊 like a movie, with logic and decorations made by actors of that scenes

My only gripe with helldivers is: 1) Sony screwing over users who don't have psn 2) The anti cheat software in the game that embeds in the kernel and needs way too much access Problem 2 is easy to fix by playing on a console or on a VM. Problem one on the other hand...oof...I can't wait for the war to be over so the Helldivers raid Sony

I think I get it now why I didn’t like the game. It was only different levels of the same thing. It’s very cinematic, and energetic but It is repetitive. It is upgrade and blow up more stuff faster, but discovering things might add a bit more dimension. So far it’s like an action movie with only action. I spent money on it but played maybe 3 days. Hoping to get interested in it again, but still looks the same with different skins.
