I broke up with my long-term girlfriend a few days ago. While wanting to break the space pick up my phone and text her out of missing her so much, my friend sent me a few pages of this book. It saved my sanity. I bought it yesterday on audible, and am halfway done already. It feels like my life-raft. And it's making me address my core beliefs. And what obstructs them. I feel so much deep peace, pain, uncertain certainty, definite knowing, and relief from addressing the things i knew but pretended i didn't know in fear of shaking the boat. Thank you so much. It is saving me.

Thank you Reese and Glennon. Reese I have complex PTSD from childhood and I am in therapy. I had 4th stage lymphoma in 2015. I am doing well now. I wanted to give you a small look into my history but only to let you know how wonderful what you are doing is for others. I am am Empath and need extra support in life. I think the message of creating your own path is so crucial for mental health. Thank you so much! A book club with books that really help change the trajectory of your life is needed.

Really? A woman finally leaves her cheating husband and broken marriage, and THIS is your reaction? Wake up, dude.
@hvega79974 жыл бұрын
@@sarakruse4703 well I didnt know he was cheating till I picked up the book, with that being said. You feel in love with a person and made vowes before God. That used to mean something. People quit too easily. If she knew she had these cravings for women why not explore that prior to getting married. Love is taken way too lax. Marriage is taken way too lax. Its for life. Till death do you part, for richer and poorer, in sickness and in health.
@sarakruse47034 жыл бұрын
@@hvega7997, I haven't read the book and I still know. Not the point though. The point is, you don't get to judge someone without knowing their entire story. Actually, you shouldn't be judging anyone either way. You're not their keeper, and you showed as all right here that you are neither all-knowing nor perfect either. Don't waste your energy on other people's marriages - but maybe spend some time figuring out why this is so triggering for you... that IS your business.
@ChiasmMarksTheSpot3 жыл бұрын
It can be a decent use of energy to ask about a public figure's motives in their personal life --- esp when they are using that story as a platform to encourage others to have X, Y, or Z type of life. In skimming articles (I had a hold placed on the audiobook) it seems she speaks to how she kept her kids close to her and wanted to introduce her new partner to them with utmost cheer and respect. That differs from a guy who just has a midlife crisis, goes to chase some younger tail, and doesn't give a hoot how his family feels about it. Regardless of gender it's important to ask the reasons someone leaves a marriage. Even if you judge them for it (we're allowed to have opinions) one can still appreciate if a spouse leaves a marriage in search of their own deeper love or truth and attempts to make this life transition without bitterness.

Doesn't the Word of God say, ' when we are in Christ, there is no bond or free no rich or poor, no man or woman.' Doesn't that mean we are all Holy in Christ - and equal ? Didn't Jesus say, 'who the SON sets free is free indeed' ? We should be free. What if the brother wanted his little sister to join the club he was in so they could build their relationship on things they have in common?
@jm.72724 жыл бұрын
$5 says Abby wants the heck outta that relationship.
