I agree about a tubular bind off. I was surprised at how unstretchy my sleeve cuffs were on the metamorphic. They’re fine, but there will be no rolling up my sleeves. It’s good to hear you feel the same way.

I did a Jenni’s stretchy on my lento just today and it’s just lovely! No non-tubular shame! 😂 🤗

Love that color on you. The sweater is a beauty. Do not blame you for froggin’ the piece… be at peace with it, I try to tell myself same when this happens. Not always easy. The Spincycle yarn sweater is so nice. Hope you wear this on a visit as I would love to see it on. I just finished Aimee Sher’s Coloring Book Tee…. Her patterns are so good, so well written. Loved all the video from your visit within Germany, fabulous. I so appreciate all the honesty you provide. I love that you speak with humor and kindness. Looking forward to next visit. Thank you for today!

Greetings from a Marin county knitter, we’re almost neighbors. You might want to try Grandma’s hiya hiya bind off. It looks a lot like a tubular bo, but much easier and seems stretchy enough. I found it on a you tube search, of course! Enjoying your podcasts.

Don’t know if you’ve already found a mohair but I think I have the same batch of nutiden and I paired it with Knitting for Olive’s in Off White and it’s a pretty perfect match!
@Lily_curatorial_knits2 жыл бұрын
Oh this is so helpful, Madeline! Do you thinking would work for a textured knit, or would it perhaps be too fluffy?
@madymack2 жыл бұрын
@@Lily_curatorial_knits personally I’m doing stockinette so I can’t say from experience but I have seen some very pretty textured patterns in Nutiden but I’m not sure if they were held with mohair.

I love to see what you are knitting! Your metamorphic is beautiful!! The colors are so wonderful!! I also love the gr8 gingham which is on my list to knit, and I agree that the neckline looks higher than I feel would be comfortable for me. I am thinking I will modify to make it into a v-neck, which I think would be quite nice if I can pull it off!! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!

LOVE the blue of the sweater you’re wearing. Great gingham is on my list to make as well - I’m super in favor of modifying patterns to what you want, I’m considering making great gingham cardigan this fall

I have missed you. I just saw a Gansey sweater at Avenue Y- a sample from the Di Gilpin Collection. It’s knit in a traditional way, all knits and purls. The North Sea yoked sweater was done in di Gilpin DK. I once heard that la Bien Aimee silk mohair Had less fuzz factor than many other premium moh’s. I’m not Particularly fond of excessive fluff. I was also thinking that a lot of fluff might take away from some of the stitch definition.
@Lily_curatorial_knits2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I adore the la bien aimee mohair, I think that the white is very hard to find, though. I may try the Verb For Keeping Warm "lighthouse" color. I adore theirs. some great texture, but not as much FLUFF FEST lol. Thanks so much for the Gansey mention too, I'll check it out!

Love your podcast! I think that holding a strand of mohair for the Ingrid sweater will obscure the textured pattern with the mohair halo. I look forward to the gingham revamp episode!🥰
@Lily_curatorial_knits2 жыл бұрын
Ah, good point, Anne! I believe that the pattern does call for mohair, but it might be too much with the Nutiden, which is itself pretty fluffy! Thank you for your kind words and looking forward to my time with Jen too, she's a treat!

You might take a look at Lang Yarns' "Lace" which is a blend of mohair super kid and silk. I used it in my Sommerknus sweater that I just finished and it's the softest, but not really fuzzy mohair/silk yarn I've every seen or used. I used colorway 'snow' -01 and it would match your Nutiden beautifully, Thanks for sharing your knitting with us. I'm working my Metamorphic sweater right now too.

Hi Lily! A white mohair that might work for you is the Camellia Fiber Company mohair in Moonshine. Aro Knits n Purls was talking about using this in one of her episodes. I believe Moonshine might be undyed, but don't quote me on that.
