Remember that one time where they claimed that the team behind the remake had members from the original? Makes you wonder what roles they had back then. I mean they knew enough that they made new details and changes to "fix" Emily's lost bag but they also forgot about the blood trails or just scrapped them? Why, because it didn't make sense? Josh made an entire dummy that was filled with lots of blood and guts and you're telling me he wasn't able to add more blood as a trail from the lodge to the shed. The missing drag marks are very nitpicking and could easily be explained by Josh covering his tracks for any mistake that could ruin his prank, but the fact that they seem to have deliberately deleted the blood trail is a huge mistake. This detail is Josh making a sign for Chris to say "we're over there, follow the blood". It's a way to progress the story and a gameplay way to bring the player where they need to go. And my personal theory on the scarecrow jumpscare is that it's some sort of a punishment to the players who goes off track to find secrets, and narratively, it's Josh saying "Where are you going, it's not that way". Is it mean? Maybe, but it's probably the developers having a big laugh at the players expense. It's one thing to have a detailed missed but when you delete a detail that could hinder the player, there's a problem.

The blood trails served a clear purpose, so the lack of them is weird - that purpose could have been replaced by drag marks in the snow, but instead we got this. I don't think the clean snow can be explained by Josh covering his tracks because A - you can't really brush snow back into place like you can with sand/dirt/leaves, but more importantly B - why would he do that, since he WANTS Chris to follow his tracks?

@ so i’ve been thinking about the missing snow problem and there’s another detail you didn’t mention; In the shed scene, Ashley doesn’t appear to have any signs of snow on her. So unless Josh has taken good care of her, which i highly doubt it, this would either be that Josh carried Ashley outside of the cabin instead of dragging her or it’s another mistake from the devs. But let’s be honest, they probably just used the blood trail for the atmosphere and call it a day, not noticing they already had the trail with the snow. Just makes you wonder why the remake deleted it.

Great video! subscribed :) Ignore the comments dismissing the point you’re making. The thoughtfulness is pretty sloppy. I decided not to buy the remake cause it didn’t look like it was worth the price, I feel a little vindicated lol

That's why the video is called 'a missed opportunity' and not 'this is a disaster'. It's just weird to change something from the original for no clear reason and make it a little worse at the same time.
