I applaud to the dev for this beautiful scene, I've never seen so much emotion conveyed like this, let alone in a pixel art animation style. The insane detail of Nicole's expressing her feelings through her piece, from her holding back her tears, her sadness and grief of her late best friend, remembering those memories that reminded her of him. This is top-notch level of writing and scene direction, no words but only emotions that are at play, along with the music to convey a powerful meaning. I love to see more indie-game narrative stories that use anime style pixel art animation. I'm no expert but it must be really hard to get this level of human expression to translate into pixel art style animation. The devs really set the bar with this one.

my take on this duet take 1 1. Positive Emotion for Mark, Negative Emotion for Nicole Mark’s Perspective: Love and Connection For Mark, the music is a reminder of his mother’s love. His closed eyes at the start show his emotional buildup. When Nicole joins and urges him not to stop, his eyes dilate, and he looks at her with affection, a clear sign of love and connection. His blush and dilated pupils reflect his feelings as the music brings warmth and comfort, symbolizing his bond with his mother. Nicole’s Perspective: Pain and Loss For Nicole, the same music brings pain, reminding her of Jake. Her eyes shine with tears, and her sad expression shows the weight of her regret. As she cries and closes her eyes, the music becomes a painful reminder of what was lost. Despite the beauty of the song, it cuts deep, symbolizing the grief of not being there for him. take 2 2. Negative Emotion for Mark, Positive Emotion for Nicole Mark’s Perspective: Attachment and Inability to Move On For Mark, the music is a symbol of his struggle to let go. His closed eyes at the start show his attempt to avoid the overwhelming emotions. When Nicole joins, his eyes dilate, reflecting his fear and emotional struggle. The flashback with his mother reinforces his attachment to the past, and his dilated pupils and blush show how he’s unable to move forward, even though the music seems like a connection of love. Nicole’s Perspective: Healing and Acceptance For Nicole, the music symbolizes healing. Though she starts crying, her tears aren’t just sorrow-they represent her acceptance of pain. As she lifts her head and opens her eyes, it shows that she’s ready to move on. The music, once a symbol of loss, becomes a source of strength, representing her ability to embrace Jake’s memory without being consumed by it.

@@iambumbo7534 This isn't a still image artwork, but a fully animated/programmed scene with dialogue and music. I know what you mean but I don't understand how you might think what you just saw could be related in anyway to that. But anyways, this scene is from Until Then, a narrative-driven visual novel game that you can pick up on Steam!
