Dude - you hit the nail on the head with this review. Smiths, Cure, Sisters, Joy Division, Banshees. I heard them all when I listened to it I'm also getting vibes from The Cult's first album Dreamtime. Unto Others have always had a vibe that gelled with my teenage years (a long time ago now) but this release smacks me right back to the dry ice and snakebike rock clubs of the late 80's. A stunner of an album.

Thanks so much Brandon! Appreciate that my friend. What did you think of the record? It's definitely a favourite of mine this year for sure. Cheers from your friend in London!

I've been an Unto Others fan ever since I heard the song "It Doesn't Really Matter," and Mana was my favourite album of 2019. Strength was great as well, but I noticed that they were moving away from what made Mana special, and along with Zeal & Ardor this release was disappointing upon first listen, so I'm not quite sure how I feel about the direction the band has taken on Never, Neverland; however, I'm wondering if this album will grow on me upon repeated listens.

Same here! I thought that Mana was just a brilliant record. I still kick myself for missing them with Gaahl's Wyrd and Tribulation back in 2019. I think that it's definitely a grower this record, I was also pretty disappointed by Z&A but hey ho, at least the bands are changing and not just being stagnant right?!

how did you listen the album for months and months if it only came out like 3 days ago ?
@TheMetalTrisАй бұрын
It did indeed but I've been fortunate to be sent an advanced copy long before that time. We also did an interview together so got sent the album ahead of time. When it comes to reviews and interviews etc... PR companies will send out the audio in a watermarked format so that people can review it but if it leaks it's traceable back to the person that leaked it and they can get taken to court etc... I don't shout about having records on my socials because that's just not me, just like to keep it quiet but since you asked, there you go! Hope that clears things up a bit? What do you think of the record?

@@TheMetalTris thanks for the detailed reply! I didn't know that the record is finalized months before the release. Spinned the album a few times and I think this is their weakest release to date. There's a few solid tracks here and there such as Butterfly, Suicide Today, Angel of the Night, Fame but all in all it's nowhere near to their previous LP's.
