I’m 38 years old. I absolutely love these cars. My uncle had a 1982 z28 4 speed when I was 9 or 10 years old. I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. My first car was a 1986 irocz that looked like it had been through hell. My best buddies had irocs too. My friend passed away in 2019 and I bought another iroc in memory of him. Memories you say they flow like waterfalls. Some of the best times of my life.

Looks like a trailer hitch did that door damage. I've had friggin trucks hit my cars in the past😡 I had an 84 Z28 H.O. model right before the IROC. Modified valve body transmission. The car was not slow, and bulletproof! Nice bro. Enjoy !

Car is gorgeous! Considering these cars were Pounded daily, used, abused and discarded I'd say she's in Great shape. A car like this deserves to be appreciated, "fixed" up and enjoyed by an enthusiasist & taken to car shows. You've got a great start already. I'd keep it personally, no way I'd let it go. Yeah it's an LB9(?) TPI 305 but in '85 & '86 that was the top of the line for those cars. Hell it's even got the rest split seats, that was an option (not standard on all cars)

Beautiful car given the age you’re always nice cars when I first got my Capri years ago I raced a lot of them with a 305s and blew them away only because they weren’t very fast cars because of the weight difference between the Mustang Capri and the Iroc however the 5.7 version of the Iroc is definitely a hard adversary to beat I would not mind getting one myself but would want the 5.7 they seem like they’re starting to go up in price like everything else but they really are nice cars Back then and now

Dude, very nice car! Have you noticed though that the 80-ties are growing in popularity and that most certainly goes for the cars from the 80-ties. The prices though will only seriously go up for cars like these when they are all original, and with a little TLC you'll get this car in a very nice original state... Swapping motors is understandable... but does not contribute to the value of this car, just make sure you'll preserve the original motor and never sell it, as long as you have this car! One more thing: This entire car was made to handle the power it came with, so puttin' a motor in there with a lot more power will probably chew up your gearbox, driveshaft and differential and more. So you'll never just swap a motor; you'll have to swap everything basically. Or...the other and probably the most sensible thing to do is: keep the car as original as possible, preserve it, perform a thorough restoration of the 3rd gen Camaro Z-28 Iroc-Z and use the new motor for a different car which most likely will benefit from it, without having to cope with depreciation in a growing market for 3rd gen Camaro's. I am just saying man...

no offense intended my Camaro friend for my comment. I have collected many Camaros and currently own my 9th. My recent purchase an '88 IROC 5.7 had an odom of 84xxx miles. This is my 3rd, of this generation, and as you know the odometers are only 5 digits. Mine, and yours, share many of the same discrepancies of this era. The wear and tear, and natural deterioration, for us both, illustrates years/miles not documented by the seller or the odometer. I don't think our cars were built that shi### in the beginning. The beauty is worth fixing. Mine black too, and like yours, will turn heads.
