We sang it in high school at a regional or state choir festival. I have loved it ever since. "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which was brought upon me..." What is that sorrow that is like no other? Is it not the sorrow of isolation and desolation? Is it not the sorrow that stands aloof and is certain that no one understands? Is it not the sorrow and pain of the moment and in the moment that explodes into such vastness that no thought, no words, and no lament can fully contain it? Where does one go with such sorrow? Jeremiah puts it in a song and sings it as a dirge. It flows in tearful singing and eventually is presented to the One who alone is able to hear and understand. --------------------------------- Lamentations 1:1-12 (NRSV):

Beautiful, poignant, and dramatic performance. The right pace, the right accoustics, and the right balance between the different voices (neither too top-heavy, like many choirs, nor muddy in the lower voices), allow this wonderful piece to bloom and swell in our hearts

When I heard those powerful and nicely resonating F2s I was really looking forward to the C2 at the end. It's quite a pity that no one got down there

I’m not sure, but I think a couple of them may have sung it. I can’t actually “hear” the note, per se, but I can sort of make out the overtones that would suggest that a C2 was sung. Take my words with a grain of salt, though. I am not a professional.

Please explain what a C2 is or an F2 for that matter. American is so different from English, you don't have crotchets or quavers and the like.
