Oh Brenda! Embrace the blessings of the Lord…. In the form of snow! In Colorado… we get SNOW… and tons of it! Talking about being creative…. Be creative with the snow! In your fountain… you have a mound of snow! We make snow orbs by using a large bowl or colander and put it over the mound to form a beautiful dome! We put fairy lights around it. Sometimes we create a divot by pushing a measuring cup into the snow and fill it with bird seed! There are so many creative things to do with snow to bring interest and beauty to your yard ❤. For fever blisters/ cold sores… silver water is the cure! You spray the area where you feel it coming up and the silver water will take away the pain and those sores will never appear! Love you tons!!

I have started making your biscuits for about 6 months now. More I make them the better they get. So I am getting pretty good now. I am not a bread eater so I send them over to my son to eat. I eat about 2 . I also started rolling out my dough for my cobblers and chicken pot pie. Ever time I make a pie I make the crust that u press out in the pan. Love it and it taste like a gram cracker crust. I make a lot of your recipes. I am 74 and live by myself and do all my work like you do. Love to bake and cook and give away to friends. ❤❤❤

Brenda, I also have fever blisters on rare occasions, and I also do the "ice cube" treatment. It works very well for me. I have to do it in stages because it starts having a burning sensation. I wait a minute or so and re apply the ice a few times during the day. Hopefully, this will work as well for you as it does for me❤

Good morning Brenda Oh how those biscuits look good! Never in my 66 years have I put stuff in my dough. Cheese yes, but not bacon and preserves. Yes ma’am. I will be trying that in my dough tomorrow morning ( I had molasses and peanut butter on my biscuits this morning.) One of my daughters lives in western Pennsylvania and they’ve had snow on the ground since Christmas. 12* there today. But up there they can still drive around and go to school because they have the snowplows that run 24/7. We were there for two weeks at Christmas. Wow was it beautiful. I’m sorry you’re getting “cabin fever”. Extra prayers for you until you can start getting back out. Karen, South Carolina

Now let me tell you something...I'm nearly as wise as all you wonderful people. Maybe not as wise, but I never get depressed about being inside. I don't love the cold, but I do love my nice warm home. All the lovely people that have a good roof should be appreciating to the max the blessing of that fact. I won't go into mentioning all the homeless right now, cause you already know, right? Just as a side note snow actually enriches the ground with nitrogen, works as an insulator, and reflects the sun back which helps regulate surface temperature. The colder temperatures provide us with many advantages as well like reducing allergens, and bugs{mosquitoes, fleas}. So my friends deeper south than Ky. maybe God sent you a needed blessing. We can be in the kitchen cooking up some of Ms.Brenda's yummy biscuits, too. I love y'all and Ms.Brenda, don't be sad!! It's only for a little while!!.

It started snowing here in WV right after the 1st of 2025 and hasn't let up yet. First snow storm we had 14+ inches then added another 6-8 inches in the next storm. We havent seen any grass for weeks. We still have over 10inches of snow on the ground. This week the temperatures have went ⬇️ its been -8 -9 this morning it was -1. It hasn't been above 10° during the day for way over a week. Our kids haven't had school for IDK how long. We haven't had school like this probably 10 years or more. I do not like cold weather, and the only thing I like about snow is making snow cream. I always start dapping, rubbing alcohol on my lip soon as it starts feeling like a fever blister is trying to come, and a lot of times, it never surfaces but it if does i continue to put alcohol on it. I think it helps it to dry up faster

Miss Brenda, you can't let the snow and cold stop you from living. If you don't work, you don't eat. You all have an excuse because you don't see snow often, and the city probably gives you a pass. You received more snow than we did. Spring is coming.

Ms Brenda, I love watching you cook. But I love listening to your stories just as much. My remedy for fever blisters is rubbing alcohol when you first feel it...for the first day just dab alcohol on your finger and hold it on the spot...until you feel the burn. After that use neosporen. This will prevent the sore ever coming up. But you have you keep with it a couple days. I'm going to take a break and fix some biscuits.😅

Brenda those biscuits looked so good. I made those biscuits with sausage and cheese( out of bacon) and apricot preserves( what I had) they were sinfully good! Your flag freezing while still flying is amazing and beautiful. ❤ Wanted to ask you, "what is the best way to re-condition or re-season old cast iron skillets?" I have decades old skillets handed down from grandmothers and some had been scrubbed with SOS pads or detergent and don't smell/taste good like seasoned pans do over the years. I know you're not suppose to really use detergent but rather wipe them out and then rub in a light oil on them to store. What is the correct way to clean, season and store them? How can I save them so food tastes good again when I cook in them. I have oiled them but still taste bad. Also no matter how much I clean them when I run a paper towel over them it comes out black. 🤔😵💫 Thank you much! and the sun will take your snow away soon and you'll be smiling big again. Thanks Brenda.
