Unveiling Dr. Monty's Sinister Plan

This video discusses the in-game hints toward the future DLCs of Black Ops 4, DLC 4 is shaping up to be Call of the Dead confronting Dr. Monty in the Aether as the ultimate Villian, but how did we get here? We walk back through Origins, Mob of the Dead, Shadows of Evil, Der Eisendrache, Zetsubou No Sihma, Gorod Krovi, and Revelations to see Dr. Monty through a new lens.
by the itme we get to Black Ops 4 in becomes obvious that Dr. monty will be the villain to our characters, but the opportunity is shoved down our throat in Blood of the Dead's ending and Classified. A classic tell instead of showing viewers occurs. Dr. Monty is the villain because we say so happens before the game properly shows us what his motivations are in Alpha Omega's easter eggs.
I figured this would be a fun video to dive into because it hits on classic theories from the past while seeing what is to come in a new light for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 zombies in DLC 4.

Quick Summary of the story so far: Inside Call of Duty Black Ops 4's DLC 3 Alpha Omega Zombies Primis and Ultimis team up to recover the elemental shard. They travel to Camp Edward, a broken Arrow base, to remove the shard from inside the APD or American pyramid Device. To open the APD Primis and Ultimis must win the trust of an AI called Rushmore inside Alpha Omega. The crew completes many tasks like reviving Peter McCain and fighting the Avagodro. Then the save Sam to start their final quest to fight Dr. Monty in the Aether or Agartha in the hopes of destorying element 115 once and for all.

There was a candy stand on the water park map with Monty's candy displayed. Also relevant, one of the new items added into BO4 reserves is a weapon charm of a Monty chocolate bar, looks similar to the model we've seen in the past

For Monty being the villain, I find it to be deserved. Unlike the Shadowman or Samantha, this one feels personal. Ultimis Richtofen was a bad guy, obviously, but we never went to go and stop him. With Doctor Monty, there's a real stake at hand. He's been manipulating Primis and Ultimis throughout history, repeating their lives over and over again, with no consequence. Finally we get to try and break that cycle for good and to take down Monty and bring peace to the multiverse. Regardless if it's Call of the Dead, it's exciting.

My question is why didnt Monty just kill Primis at the end of Rev like he was starting to do before he sent them back, making the cycle? Yes, them being stuck in the cycle gives him control over them. But by the end of Rev, Monty has their souls and Samantha trapped in the house. What more does he need them for at this point? Why wouldn’t he just kill them and go on with his perfect world, not having to worry about loops and controlling them at all (since theyd be essentially gone). Maybe this will be answered in the last dlc

Perpetuating the cycle gives Monty more power over Primis. It essentially leaves their souls in a deadlocked cycle while erasing them would have given them the opportunity to learn that information in the kronorium and immediately turn on Monty in a new cycle. Ironically, Post-Rev Richtofen knew that and that's why the blood vials are used to perpetuate the cycle AND as red herrings to keep Monty off Richtofen's plan. If Monty would have actually erased them, then he stood a much higher chance at winning by not letting the events of Blood, Classified, and Alpha Omega happen.

MST3Killa my guess for sending them back through the cycle is exactly what you just said. They'll keep collecting their souls over and over, essentially doing Monty's plan for him. Who knows why he needs their souls to control them? For Sam, it's because she's a fucking nutcase with the full power of the aether and probably so is Eddy. Remember, he's not getting just Primis' souls, these are also Ultimis' souls. We know from radios in CotD that the test subjects were extremely effected by 115, but unlike other test subjects, they lived. They have some sort of resilience to the aether that other people don't have.

Monty is as Richthofen was pre blood of the dead even post botd they both don’t want to die or be non existent so they would rather hold all of the multiverse hostage so they can keep the illusion of their own lives/existence in tact they’re destined to die but they don’t desire it and cannot change it so they will make them endlessly start over before they die.

I think Monty as the final villain (and Shadowman as he’s likely a corrupted version of Monty) is good. BO3 was essentially the ending that we we seem to be aiming for in BO4 but Monty stopped it because he didn’t want to lose his power/die. And BO3’s objective tied into the other games well. Basically undoing the chaos of the previous installments

It's easy to see why Monty wants the souls. Controlling the people who are the descendants of the 4 legendary warriors who are able to wield the staff (assuming their blood allows them to wield the staff) is a big win. Btw, if someone who doesn't possess the blood of Primis, can they still wield the staff or will it simply not work or something bad will happen?

Much like most of the story line in zombies it's either force fed or hidden deep within ciphers and radios. I don't mind Dr Monty as the villain especially After bo4 shoved it in our face but I just hope he stays the villain through the end and we can reach some sort of ending beating the bad guy. I have a bad feeling he won't even matter and there will be some other thing occupying our characters in dlc4. Great content Reed! Can't wait for more

The big big question now is: how could blood of the dead happen and how did richtofen ended up in this chamber? Either Richtofen new they were trapped in a cycle but didnt want to do anything against it, or something "enlightened" them. It could possibly be that maaaybe because the mobsters were able to break the cycle in mob it lead to an inconsistancy in the loop, making richtofen notice/being told that they are in a cycle.

The thing about Dr. Monty is that he believes what he does is the correct thing to do. Dr. Monty would allow countless dimensions to end if it means ensuring the survival of his “perfect world”. Think of half full or half empty Dr. Monty would answer half full because he focuses on the people that will live in the end. Not care about the damned. Keeping primis and the shadow man in the forever loop (aka BO3) would leave him free to remain in a position of power to keep watch over all. He makes himself believe to be a “Omnipotent” being despite him really not. Destroying Agartha will be the death of him. He does not want to die because he think he is the only one that can rule the Keepers and neutralize the Apothicons. The BO3 cycle is not perfect and Monty knows it, but despite everything the cycle would also enslave the apothicons. You break the cycle like our bois did in BO4 and we are left to an unsure and unpredictable ending. Monty is scared. That’s my take on it anyway

I think the zombies storyline is still fairly strong as of now despite a few decisions I view as very “meh”. I don’t think it’s as confusing as people make it out to be but I can understand confusion. If Aether doesn’t end in BO4 tho i’m just done. BO4 has set us up for the end, Chaos has began and for the most part is well received. Just end it.

The thing that bothers me with dr monty helping us with powerups and stuff as those is that in black ops1 the controller of the zombies became stronger when more zombies were killed samantha said it. Also that would exlain why we got the drops to make it easier for us to kill the zombies. Also why the zombies attack them when we are in bo2 during pilons because richtofen wants to be stronger even though he wants us to help him with the polorisation device. When dr monty said he was the one helping us that kinda made me feel meh cause that was already explained. Sure mob of the dead followed by origins and bo3 and bo4 (i think) thats a different story i would agree that in those maps its cool for him to do such things. But for him to confirm that he has been helping since natch makes no sense its something that bothers me of course its my opinion please respect

I still dont think he's a villain per say, like I said in a comment before changeing something you've had forever is a hard thing to do. I honestly don't blame the guy for wanting to keeping things as is.
