What a palavar. I would have exited the lock, approached the landing and attached a line to the first pile. Then using it as a spring line reversed with helm pushed to port and the boat would have pivoted counter clockwise and it would have come along side the landing with no risk of the boom above the weir.

Its a great film, but I think you should buy a tape measure ... because your two feet is quite large 🙂
