Hi Simon and Karen(forgive me if that is an incorrect spelling). Thank you for sharing your story, I have yet to go down that path on my chanel, you have inspired me to do so at some point. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer around 10 months ago and had to undergo RALP surgery as well as a limphectomy and non nerve sparing. The op took 31/2 hours but only 24 hours in hospital. My prostate was the size of a grapefruit, 76cc apparently. Although, like you I am here to tell the tale the after effects of the operation can take up to 12 months to dissipate. The awareness of this cancer should be spread to as many men as possible but also wives and partners as well because they have to deal with the outcome of the treatment and mop up the spills. so to speak. Once again Thank you both for this very positive message.

Thank you for your reply Torbay. Sorry to hear you were diagnosed too. Glad your treatment is over. The effects do last a while but its better than the alternative. You're right about awareness spreading. Much more needs doing as early detection often means greater success and less invasive treatment. Stay well my friend. All the Best Simon & Karen

Hi Neil I am very well thank you. We haven't made any new videos for a while as my youngest daughter (20) is also going through chemo. We will make a video together very soon.

Enjoyed your story. Hope you continue doing well. My prostate journey took a different route. My bladder retention and UTI problems + an increase Gleeson score from 6 to 7 sent me to a radical prostatectomy. That was 8 weeks ago and I’m pissing like a stallion , on no drugs and regained continence. My PSA is now negligible. In short my recommendation is , as my Urologist agreed , get it out . Everyone is different but I recommend a prostatectomy.

Thank you Stephen. prostate cancer is a bigger threat than most men realise. I began to spread the word and encourage as many men to get checked out, as my treatment began. All the best, Simon & Karen

Just had my MRI and blood tests. PSA 25, biopsy next and not sure what is ahead. U.S.A. Thanks,
@idocanals9 ай бұрын
PSA 25 is not too bad. Mine was 88 when treatment commenced. The biopsy can be a little uncomfortable but is conclusive. You'll then get a Gleason score which grades speed of growth and aggressiveness. Each are 1-5, 5 being the strongest. Mine was 4-4. Once they have your Gleason, they will determine the course of treatment. Hormones and radiotherapy is most common. Sometimes combined with surgery. I was too late for surgery, so I had hormones, chemo, brachytherapy and radiotherapy. This September, I'm FIVE YEARS CLEAR. Above all, keep a strong positive attitude with a determined focus on YOU. Where on our planet are you? Happy to chat privately if you wish. All the Very Best, Simon

I’m in the States. They told Me anything above a .6 was bad and since I’m a 25 then I have cancer and it could spread so I went on my own and had the MRI done and a few blood tests. Started out January 1 - February 15 at a 22.5 and then the end of February at a 25 score. So we will see I guess. MRI results next week then a biopsy if it is needed from the MRI which I think will happen. Thanks again for the video

@@AmberWhiskeyRGS There's a lot of stuff online that can give you the wrong impression. PSA is a factor. More important is the Gleason Score which you'll get from the biopsies. My score of 88 was quite high but I've met men who were in the hundreds and are now years in the clear. My PSA rose quite quickly, 78 to 88 in four weeks. Some guys I've met have experienced much slower increases or even fairly static. Wait for your biopsies and try not to read too much online as opinions vary so much and are often way off reality. Stay Strong and believe in yourself. Surround yourself with supportive family and friends. Wishing you the Very Best. Stay in touch Simon (UK)

Hey What was your Gleason score. Was your cancer outside your prostate? Are you still on hormone treatment? What is your current psa? Thank you. Soldier on. Harry
@idocanals Жыл бұрын
My gleeson was 4/4. No longer on hormones, PSA currently 0.1 and has been for 2 years.

Great. Glad to hear that. I was diagnosed with Gleason 9. Mets in lymph, spine and shoulder. Stage 4. Had radiation to prostate and lymph node. Been on hormone for last two years. PSA currently 0.03. Going off hormone now and will see what happens. Cheers. God is good.

Excellent description of your journey. Am 53 and now going to start radiation. Am from Norwich. I also try to vlog my journey and have a channel. "Neil Davidson tenerife" if interested. 1352 subs and any money I make on adverts I donate to a local community cancer care place here in Norfolk.

Thanks Neil. I have sub'd to your channel. Will follow your progress with interest. My daughter is 2/3 through her chemo right now. We are in UCLH hospital as I write. She's hooked up to a chemo drip right now. Had great news last week that she's in REMISSION. This and one more round to go to hammer the nails in cancers coffin. All the Best to you Neil
