It really is wonderful to have a dedicated sewing space, isn't it? When I retired a couple of years ago we turned my former office into a "craft room" where my husband does his sketching/painting and I do my sewing. After years of perching on the end of the dining table and having to put the sewing machine away after every sewing session, the ability to leave the machine in situ and the current project on the cutting table until next time is sheer bliss! 😊 Don't fret about plastic wallets, Amelia, they get re-used time and again, and they are moisture proof and transparent, in other words perfect for the purpose. It's single use plastic we need to avoid 😊

I love the little things which show your love for your children. The box for your daughter to play with. Seems inconsequential but gives the flavour of your relationship. I’m currently trying to thoroughly clean, decluttering and reorganize my sewing room. Stalled as we wait upon Rentokill's pleasure to come and kill a wasp nest which is invading my sewing room.

It's so pretty and organised! I'm just starting to put my sewing/crafting room together after having moved and I'm very indecisive about what is going where. Right now it's a jumble of boxes and cast off furniture that doesn't fit elsewhere in the new smaller house. Turning chaos into order isn't my forte, I usually do the opposite lol.

What an exquisite room Amelia - sew amazing and sew organised! I love the tailor’s table especially the in-built ruler! It’s so clever the way the ends of the table can be extended. Thank you for sharing all your organisation ideas. I was wondering what the dimensions of the room are? I am currently trying to organise my own sewing room. Great to hear that you have cut out the Mitchell trousers! You suggested that pattern to me before and I checked it out online. I mainly wear dresses and I was asking you about patterns for trousers. I made Tilly’s Safiya pants from Make It Simple but the elastic waistband doesn’t suit my shape. I am looking forward to hearing what you think of the Mitchell trousers when you make them. Another thing I was wondering about is dress forms. Do you use one? I have heard mixed reviews from videos I have watched online. I don’t currently have one. Thank you Fiona! I love the tailor's table so much and I am so glad I found it - it suits the space so well! The room is relatively small - roughly 7m by 7m I think. I will make up the Mitchell trousers for winter I think, so will let you know how I get on! I have a dress form, but I think I need to work out how to pad it so that I can get to be more similar to my measurements and proportions so that it is more useful to me. It is very pretty though!

Thank you, Letitia! It certainly did not used to stay so tidy, and it is a bit more chaotic in the middle of a project, but I do like to try and keep it as tidy as I can - and do have a proper clean up once I have finished a project. I do find I want to sew much more when the room is clear and clean.
