For 7.8kg is considered quite light for an aero bike with Enve 5.6 wheels. CK hubs are definitely more heavier but the freewheeling sound is really music to the ears. Luckily u are not using tubeless 28mm GP5k ASTR if not u would feel them even more heavier.. 😅
@patrickparisienne1917
@patrickparisienne1917 9 ай бұрын
The weight is fine considering the heavier, but quality hubs. The the mainly flat riding that you do, it makes no difference. Even climbing, PRO’s climb on aero bikes anyway. As long as you are happy, that is ALL that matters! Love it mate!

How is Look not a Performance brand??? They're top of the line with their track bikes, and I'd imagine their road bikes are just as refined and high quality! Two TdF stage wins this year!
@JustSueMe
@JustSueMe 9 ай бұрын
@@fritz324 My comment was more aimed towards smaller and boutique brands in general. You don't really buy their bikes for weight or performance, but rather as a nice statement bike to have, more like an art. To be honest, Look is neither a small brand nor big brand really. They are somewhere in the middle. For track cycling you're 100% correct that Look is one of the go-to bikes for performance, but for road I believe big brands are more focused on creating the most performance oriented bike they can. They have larger R&D and design departments, big facilities, they sell larger quantities so they work closer with manufacturers etc.
@fritz324
@fritz324 9 ай бұрын
@@JustSueMe I totally agree with you that they're in this weird middle position. Maybe I give them the benefit of the doubt regarding performance because of their heritage and track history. Either way, a stunning bike (although it's sad that there is no rim brake version haha)
@82vitt
@82vitt 9 ай бұрын
@@JustSueMe This frame set was designed specifically for the Cofidis team and for their racing demands in the first place, so the designers would have been thinking about optimising it for performance for sure. Weight of the frame set isn't an issue so long as the frame sets the rest of the peloton are using aren't significantly lighter, which given all are kitted out with pretty much the same components is a non-issue.

Bike looks nice, the components are individually very very nice. 7.8kg is not good not bad. For comparison: For a friend I assemble a 785 Huez RS with 45mm Lightbicycle wheels (Carbon-Ti hubs), 6.9kg total. But it's not aero like yours. Year ago I passed my Colnago Concept to a friend, 7.5kg total but rim brakes. My Time ADH'01 Disc has 5.8kg, but that's weight-optimized (not quite WW). Doesn't matter all that much if you're not start-stopping frequently and do few HM per 100km: Aero dominates the faster your steady-speed is. Anyway, I like your semi-critical/realistic comments going through the thing! Keep it up, and just have fun. 🙂

It's a beautiful bike. I've seen this model bike in person, the geometry does indeed look extremely aggressive and racy. I've spoken with domestic pros here in the US who race this frame, they said it's not a particularly light or stiff frame but the quality is very high and it handles well. The one issue I have: at this it's competing with some of the finest frames in the world and there are many cheaper options that are very, very good. To me, it's a little hard to justify the Look from a purely economic perspective. It's such a cool frame though...

Mapdec cycle works. You should look at his review of these frames. It’s easy to justify to a regular consumer a frame that is of superior engineering quality simply because you have less chance of things going wrong. Thus less cash to dish out or time with your bike stuck in the shop. More people should go for this bike but it’s just not marketed as well as other brands.

Congrats with the bike. It's a beatiful frame :) I may be a little biased, because I also have one in order ;) It's odd and confusing, that there is 2 measurements on the stem. The correct measurement is normally taken from center of the steerer tube to center of the handlebar. I have ordered a frame size M, with a 110 mm stem. (but maybe it's 120 mm?) I will have to contact Look or the seller, to get the correct measurement. - Enjoy the bike!

Wow, what a gorgeous bike you have there! Hey, I noticed that you find it a bit aggressive and not very comfortable, but you still decided to slam the stem, huh? Have you ever considered adjusting the number of spacers to achieve a more open hip angle? It might be interesting to see how that affects your power output. Seems like pros are starting to raise the front end to be more aero, just like in a time trial position. It's like the Chinese say, "Dying to look good," right? 😂 Anyway, I hope you have many enjoyable rides with your new bike. Take care and stay healthy! 😊

Gp5000 on one bike and Michelin on another. Michelin lasts only 1200 miles on rear ( tried 3 tires). GP goes a bit more. it's just gloss paint, why would you think it's a sticker? The matte black to gloss black transition will always have a different thickness due to the clear coat, one of the finishes will be elevated or sunk in depending on the method used to paint the frame. This is a beautiful frame, though I agree a full gloss black would look killer...the geometry on the size S is percect. Wish it wasn't so expensive 😭

It’s like marrying the hot girl but finding out she has some issues. What to do? Hey man, you’re married to her. So learn to love her. Because, while divorce may be an option, the truth is it’s cheaper to keep her.😅 So get on her and ride her till the pleasure makes you forget the pain.

the drop doesnt look massive i think the reach may make it feel overly aggressive. with a shorter stem and shorter bars you could feel more comfortable and still get in the best aero position on a road bike with bent arms.

Disappointed to hear the weight after seeing the claims that look is making. I have the 2020 version and my only complaint is the weight. I have been eager to see reviews of this version. (Very different bike). Thanks for this video.

It’s a combination of factors leading to the weight, I’ve got a relatively heavy wheelset, saddle is not the lightest in the market, spider power meters are heavier than pedal based ones, groupset not the highest end

Enjoyed the video. For that money, I would have gone the SL8 S-Works frameset route. You would have ended up with a lighter and probably faster bike. Would have also changed the wheels to something lighter like the Elite drives or Carbon Spoke Road Disc CD Series from 9 Vello. A cheaper option would have been to go the none S-Works route (pro) but get the new handlebar/stem one piece. Even with the purchase of new lighter wheels (mentioned before), you still would have have moneys left back Anyway for what its worth, what you have there does look better than the SL8. Who knows, the look of the bike may enable you using distraction, to drop some riders

Look claim their race-ready 795 team Cofidis are riding is 7kg in size M, which does sound to me somewhat optimistic. However, what I don't understand is why they make the seat post into an "aero" shape. A slim one would make the frame set 100g lighter making the bike more comfortable to ride, whilst not taking anything away from the aerodynamics of the frame, to which we know only the very front contributes anything, if at all.

@@OompaLoompaCycling No worries, most people shop with their eyes, me too :). It wouldn't look aesthetically consistent with the rest of the frame, but it would be more functional, especially on rougher tarmac. By the way, I have the same saddle on my Time ADH01 - it is actually reasonably lightweight and provides decent cushioning and didn't cost much, so I will keep mine.

From your bike fitting section of your video, your reach looks cramped up. Could be stem too low and you are not used to it. Probably raise the stem a few mm and slowly lower it when you get more used to it. Your choice of longer 110mm stem vs the current 100mm stem is right. Experiment with your saddle position.. I may be wrong but you are not planted on the saddle when you paddle. But I guess you have to adjust and get used to it while exploring how to optimise your pedaling with the frame where your body weight/postion over pedal to your advantage. From the video maybe you're way too over the pedal slide back a few mm? Only you will know if your glutes or legs are activate more. Cheers.
