Karen Carpenter had such an angelic voice. Her voice is one of a kind and will never be matched again. At Christmas time when I hear her voice brings me to tears. A beautiful voice and talent gone way to soon. You will always be remembered and never forgotten. RIP Karen. You are loved. Loved her songs and her voice.

The Carpenters are the ones who pioneered doing vocal overdubs. By a process called, "Stacking Tracks". A&M studios had a 24 track multitrack recorder. They would sing one pass and then several more. Harmonizing with themselves. Later on groups like Queen would use this same technique on "Bohemian Rhapsody"

This collection of lowlights of Karen’s life surprises me by its accuracy. Its creator relied on recent biographies of the doomed singer, which rely on intimate interviews with those who knew her best.

Agnes did not supervise Karen's treatment. She saw a therapist in New York by the name of Steve Levenkron. Agnes didn't much approve of or participate in Karen's treatment.

Yeah that ipecac killed her. Without that she would’ve lived on. She is such a massive loss, biggest out of any singer and artist.

Karen was still married when she died. She was going that afternoon to sign the final divorce papers, but died about 9:15am on Feb. 3, 1983.

It's her mum. Insenitive. The insecurities start in childhood.

After listening to different comments one can see that her mother being very insensitive caused her emotional collapse. Also the mother always put Richard as number one. I feel Richard felt he should have been the star but Karen proved him wrong. I think down deep he Resented the fact he became number two.

Why did Hagn̈ess not give CPR? Why would Hag not breath for her. She loved Rich but not Karen. 😮 They all needed to let someone else love her and not TB. 🎉😢🎉

It is difficult for some people to overcome the battles that stem from the lack of love and acceptance by a parent. Her mother never showed her any love so she never felt good enough. Her relationship with her mother is not an excuse. It’s the foundation that fostered her low self esteem. 😢

In Karen's case it was, she never showed her love or encouragement, but for Chris she moved house nearer to his college he wanted to attend, you can't blame Karen for feeling rejected.....

@@andyleleisiuao58 A wealth of interviews with the people who knew Karen best were revealed in recent years. Her closest friends’ remarks, both from childhood and adulthood, enriched such biographies as “Little Girl Blue,” by Randy L. Schmidt.

They can sugar coat it as much as they like but her mom was a narcissist and her lack of adoration for Karen is what made her want to change her self because she didn’t feel loved or respected as the artist and daughter she was
