I remember growing up and going to church in Youngsville. Back then it was just surgarcane fields for miles and miles. Now 20 years later its filled with modern homes and businesses. Ive been tempted to move more to the Southside of town but my heart will always be on the Northside. ❤

Borden's built 1940 and is the last Borden's Ice Cream "Diner" in America. Worth mentioning.

I’m going to say, I don’t think you’re originally from the area and that is strictly due to how you pronounce Abshire. I’m in St. Martin parish and I believe my family near Nola pronounces it the way you do. One thing that I would love to have known before purchasing is the water quality issues in the suburbs. Our water has been so bad that I developed a chronic skin condition that has no cure. It’s so contaminated that we have to replace appliances, it’s hard to get a whole house filter system because within a few hours, they become blocked. We have a lawsuit against the company, but it’s been this bad for over 20 years. If we had the option to move, I wouldn’t look back. I hold a lot of anger for thinking that this was where I wanted to live definitely research the water supply and see how they have been graded. This is mostly in towns not in Lafayette parish.

Man I’m so sorry to hear that. But yes I’m born and raised from here.

@@DrakeAbshireLivingInLafayette it must be a “St.Martin parish” thing. We pronounce it like it would rhyme with hire. I absolutely miss having Lafayette water. As silly as that sounds, it would be extremely nice not to feel like my house is taking a pee on me if I shower.

Nothing good about New Iberia. What an absolute dump.

Sorry you feel that way. I’ve heard this from others before.

New Iberia, Sunset, Breaux Bridge are not suburbs of Lafayette! They are not even part of Lafayette Parish! I-10 runs from East end of the US to the West side& is not a street in Lafayette. And that's not Ambassador Caffery you pointing to its University Ave. Come'on I'd want my realtor to be better than this guy who doesn't seem to know anything about the great city of Lafayette!!

First of all, I’m born and raised from this area and know it like the back of my hand. If you zoom out on a map yes those are small towns, but part of the greater Lafayette are. When people refer to areas around Houston or any other city it’s the same thing. The towns surrounding they consider suburbs of the area cause they don’t feel like the big city like Lafayette feels. Also reading a map online is hard while recording cause they don’t provide the street name in certain views. A simple mistake.

Who want to move there it’s a bad area hurricane

The hurricanes you can prepare in advance at least. Tornadoes and earthquakes happen when you least expect it

We barely get touched my dude lol that's Lake Charles and New Orleans 😂

@ do your research New Orleans is not a hot spot for hurricanes if the levees wasn’t busted no one would put hurricane with New Orleans and we below sea level in city limits the number top 3 states to get hit by hurricanes is Florida Texas then Carolina area both states then Louisiana we 5#
