The star of David has nothing to do with king David PBUH. It appeared after the death of prophet King Solomon PBUH and the decadence of his kingdom and spread of black magic. In fact you find stars in most bronze age cultures of the middle east, so i see no reason to see why the Levant people wouldn't have adopted one too. Nobody can deny that Jews were worshiping foreign gods in the first temple period. But already in the second temple period which lasted more than 400 years, there Was no time that Jews worshiped other gods. Also the 'star of David' was not used by Jews until modern times. These primal symbols did not spontaneously appear in the middle ages or at Prague as a whimsical aesthetic choice. The triangle, the square, the pentagram, hexagram, heptagram etc. particularly when they are enclosed within a circle, are exceedingly old primary geometric figures and were originally employed for ritual purposes. Their later appropriation as fanciful decor upon shields, flags and rings carried with them no meaning whatsoever to the nation or people, BUT they were chosen as symbols for a very significant reason and at some earlier time, that reason was likely known by most of the people, just like the four suites and houses of the common deck of cards today. If someone chose the Ace of Spades as a decorative national symbol, it's probably a good idea to research it's meaning before embracing it for it's aesthetic value only.

Many of those symbols have Chaldean origins and further bsck into the traditions of the Akkadians of Mesopotamia The Swastica was also s figure commonly found on dishes and pottery from as early as 1600 BC frim ancient Sumer. The Yesidis of Anatolia often used the circle enclosing a pentagram or swastica-like wheel figure with bird's wings in the motif. There Must be a more compelling reason as to why the Jewish people thousands of years after chose tbe Hexagram upon a white and blue banner. The star of David is borrowed from the more ancient symbol (Shatgona) of Hinduism. It symbolizes Shiva the Destroyer. Maybe that's why David put it on his shield. Shiva is part of the holy trinity (trimurti) of Hinduism, ( Maybe the 'trinity' belief adopted by Christians )......there was a golden calf that was worshiped in the Torah ....another Hindu practice.
