Some quick addendums to add: I talked about Dragoon Glide being a good defense type, but I was kinda mistaken. I'd say Dragoon Elevate is probably a better example. I give an order of when to use all 3 types, and I gave a specific placement for each. This is more meant for simplicity, as it does a great job displaying each types strengths: defense being preventative and being safe attack getting points and being versatile stamina cleaning up and being situational In reality, it's only so simple because there's no other way to explain the strategy, as it's just complex rock paper scissors. It's all about being smart with point values and using the strengths of each type at the right moment! You're given all the tools you need: Hard way to get multiple points Easy way to get single points Average way to prevent points. As long as you gain and prevent points in the right order, victory is but a guarantee! Stay Valliant, and remember: this isn't a path to victory, but the tools to achieve it! This is only my first guide after all! Plenty more hidden, top of the line knowledge for yall!

Yo this was cool! It's crazy how many viriables are in play here, never noticed that tbh. Sadly most people don't use defense it feels and there are a lot of balance or custom builds that can change how they play, based on how they're launched. Either way, it is still fascinating to look at the whole point system in this way and I am sure some people can put this info to very good use, well done ^^

@cecillewolters1995 oh yeah for sure! It's all kinda based on what's good in the meta. Defense lacks very many good options, Dragoon Elevate is basically that, but very new. Balance stuff and subtypes add a bunch to the game, so what I suggest is to look at what your beyblade is trying to achieve and work that into your other beys. Anti attack is a great example, playing both an attack and defense role. You can put it first to use it like defense, or play it 2nd to play it like attack, but it's always gonna be both, so you can use that to cover 2 spots, and that allows you to mix up more than a more ridged deck. It's super interesting, and yeah, you're absolutely right! most people don't notice how deep this format is, and I'm glad to FINALLY get this info out there! Thank you so much for watching it!

I can't thank you enough, doc Using this strategy you have hypothesized, as well as some further testing and evaluation of the metagame on my own, I was able to outplay everyone in my first tournament and take first place! Your editing style and scientific approach are things I have longed for from the community (the lecture style is excellent), and you have really inspired me to start beytubing myself! I am excited to see the content you have coming up later this year, and I hope you'll be able to check out some of my videos before long too. If you ever want to try and collaborate, hmu!🤙

@GearSportsGuys hey wow! Fantastic to hear this helped, and big props on the tournament win! Taking that analytics approach to Beyblade is something I've wanted to do for a whole long while, but I could never figure out how to make it work. The whiteboard style is something I just thought of from having one to write notes on, and it's honestly my best idea I think I've had for this channel.

So I'm making a dino-themed team for competitive play when I get around to it The way I'm strating it is bite croc (5-60 LF) first for early knockouts. If he fails I go talon ptera (currently 3-80 P) to recover. With point and his stamina potential, I can use him to stall win And then roar tyranno (9-60 F) to sweep it up in the final round All of my teamates are pretty good on their own. Together they allow me a good start and middle with an amazing finisher

@bladekidWBO 14 күн бұрын
@@IcefireC67 nice! Personally, I like Ptera on the attack more, but I can respect a hybrid balance variant. Pretty attack focused, so requires some skill, but each bey is capable of a KO at the end of the day, so it's a scary deck to fight
@IcefireC67
@IcefireC67 14 күн бұрын
@bladekidWBO yeah, that's the risk/reward of this team I think. At least until we get more dinos to work with. Thats why Im playing ptera as an attack/stamina balance type cuz I wont have any other defensive play in my team otherwise lol And with point as ptera's bit I can still shoot it to be more offensive if I have to. I know I'll need go give it 3-60 eventually. I just dont have one to give mine right now Kinda hoping the rumors about hasbro making a triceratops bey are true. Would be nice for them to give us a more defensive beyblade to round off the dino entourage
@bladekidWBO
@bladekidWBO 13 күн бұрын
@IcefireC67 I really hope we get a triceratops one too! Hey, if you want a Dino themed defense type, TyrannoBeat can work as anti attack and fill a similar role. It's not the same, but it's a bey that beats attack well, so I definitely recommend it!

I use a basic coverage deck: Phoenix Wing 9-60H Whale Wave 9-70L Silver Wolf 5-60B What makes it work is that each one has better defence/stamina/attack than other beys of the same type

@thedude4063 Phoenix hexa is a neato combo, it's for sure cool! Whale on level is something I really liked, the extra precession from the bit helps counteract Whale's top heaviness a bit, a long with giving something that really wants speed more of it! Silverwolf Ball is a classic combo for sure! More tanky rod ball, definitely slot into a deck well!! Thanks for sharing your deck, it was cool looking it over!

Are there any scenarios where it would make sense to double or triple up on any type besides attack?
@bladekidWBO
@bladekidWBO 2 ай бұрын
@KeeganMcKinney double defense and double stamina both can work, double defense more actually, as double attack is pretty common when nobody runs defense due to the stigma, and there's really only one good stamina type. Your goal it to legit do the reverse of double attack. Double attack wants to get 2 agressive wins (anything that nets 2 or more points) and 1 passive win (a sleep out or self KO, the things you don't need to do anything extra for). Double attack uses force to get a lot of points, and 1 safe combo to give you a break and some consistent points if 1 of the attackers fell short. Double defense deviously defeats agressive adversaries atuned to actively achieve agency. What I'm saying is double defense gives you a really good shot against something very popular, but defense itself wasn't good enough up until now. You run the right deck, while you'll never get the same amount of possible points as double attack, you're way more safe since you don't have any real chance of those defense types losing to an agressive win condition. You could get 2 Xs and an OS with double attack at best for a 7-0, but the same but worse could happen. You could technically get 9-0ed and get Xed 3 times in a row with 2 attacks and a stamina, or even just 7-0ed if you have 2 attacks and a defense instead. Either way, bad news. With double defense, its possible to get 2 OSes with your defense types and an X finish with your attack for a 5-0. Sure, not as good as the 7-0, but at worse you'll be gettin OSed twice and Xed once. That 5-0, and in most final stages, that's not enough to secure a win. In other words, double attack may have higher potential, but at a risk which can actually throw you into peril. In a typical 4 point match, risking attack and losing 3 points is so, so terrible, it's way worse than even getting OSed by an attacker as a defence type. At the very least, double defense gives you the ability to stall for time, and as much as I hate to say it, dragging out a match to make your opponent nervous is a legitimate strategy. On top of that, you'll rarely have the heart attack that comes with a dumb random X finish, and if it does, you'll know its not a consistent feature of the match, and that you'll have a 2nd chance with another defence type. Triple defense can work too, but wins don't matter that much unless they contribute points. This doesn't just mean "gain more than 1 point" moreso that it has to be a match worth taking. This may work, but you have no way to fight back. If you fight double attack, it's "Win, Win, Loss/even" and if you fight a basic coverage, it's "Win, Even, Loss" A bey can contribute without gaining that many points, but something has to contribute points eventually, otherwise you give your opponent free chances to keep trying. Plus, if they have a stamina type, or worse, a stamina and a defense type, they have potentially more opportunities to get points. And even then, defense isn't perfect, say it's triple defense VS basic, and it's "Win, Even, Loss", this should end with a 2-1 in someone's favor, but they technically can get a KO even if its not likely. You can't. If they get any single lucky KO, you've basically put yourself in an unwinnable feedback loop since no matter what, you'll never be able to get more than 1 point. They only have to get 2 points once for the math to be basically impossible in triple defense's favor. Double stamina would work if we had more than 1 good stamina type and it wasn't 3v3. Double stamina in a normal Deck Format is a lot different. Deck basically involves picking any of your 3 beys to start, once a battle is over, the loser can choose to lock both players into the same combo, if not, the winner and the loser both get a chance to swap, with the winner having to do so beforehand. If you have a meta with a stamina type triangle, with 3 blades or bits that all counter each other, running double stamina in deck can be neat, as you'll have a defence to stop attack, and then at worst an even stamina matchup with 2 winning ones. This strategy is absolutely peak with anti attack, as you get the ability to KO the stamina type you can't fully counter if it shows up. In 3v3 this can work, but with no preselection viewing phase, and the lack of immediate freedom you have with using your beys means you gotta be a mind reading 10,000 I.Q. Dr.bladekid level intelligence to consistently pull that off, and even then, you'd be smart enough to realize it wouldn't work against most deck compositions, as 3v3 doesn't create anything that double stamina would want to counter. This could have prolly been a video, I gotta stop giving away all my knowledge for free lmao! But hey, I hope it helped!

What are the other 3 strategies? You mentioned double attack and basic coverage.
@bladekidWBO
@bladekidWBO 2 ай бұрын
@nextx90 glad you asked! I never did mention the 3 others I was going to. My b, here ya go! Anchor: the Anchor deck is deck that relies on one bey to gain most of the points, with the other 2 meant to cover gaps and assist with than main Bey's goal. This is harder in 3v3 than deck due to having to use all 3 beys instead of the higher switch freedom deck allows, but can absolutely be pulled off. In 3v3, it's more of a style. You make one bey that's a generalist, make it attack since you *need* to be gaining more points for this to work. Phoenix Wing is a FANTASTIC choice for this. Then, your other two will be strategic counterpicks meant to cover that Bey's weaknesses. You could run Rod Hexa to deal with Goon Elevate, as that can beat Phoenix. Finally, you could run Goon elevate yourself to counter Rod ball, beat attack, and just be safe overall. PW gets most the points, the other two help make that easier by taking out things that might be hard for Phoenix while not being a liability themselves. Double Defense: Double Defense is not something that's really super possible, but it can be very strong. The hardest part about defense is accidentally wasting it on a non attack pick, the 2nd defense bey helps that. You aren't getting a lot of points, but you can basically force your opponent into a frustrating style of play where they have to outplay you so much more. Attack is a nice 3rd choice to have, but a good Stamina type can also be valuable here, remember you might have Goon Elevate and Rod Ball as hard stops for this, though Rod Hexa is a nice defense bey that circumnavigates the Goon part of that. Double anti attack is also neat, but kinda the same thing as both double attack and double defense. the Counter deck: The Counter Deck involves using a super niche counterpick to safely take out a large threat from your opponent, and typically at least 1 attack type. You want something that's going to be getting a lot of points, as sacrifices need to be considered here. Your counterpick should be at the very least non risky to throw out even if you lose. They're best directed at attackers, But you can flip this to directly counter something like Rod or Goon. Anti attack is best for this role, as it's an attack type that sacrifices a bit of power to minimize self recoil. This makes them very solid at abusing an attack type's high recoil, as they're much less affected by head on clashes. Try to determine where makes sense for the opponent to place the thing youre trying to counter, and try and take advantage of your other beys to end up with more points, even if a bey or 2 has to lose. You wont always be right, but if your combos are setup right, you should be able to have a chance at least.

What are your thoughts on Balance types?
@bladekidWBO
@bladekidWBO 2 ай бұрын
@KeeganMcKinney balance types are interesting, the 3 main types kinda show the basic ways of getting wins (KO/Burst, OS, and block KO/burst), but balance types don't really do anything unique to those 3 things, instead, balance types almost let you mix and match. Balance also isn't something I'd consider a type, more rather, a description of anything that doesn't fit a core type's attributes. Balance types are kinda a thing that gets used more than people think, I'd argue that the more commonly known "anti attack" type is a balance type. I wouldn't, but you could also say Goon Elevate is a type of balance type. Now you may ask, what about mobile defense? And honestly, not a separate type imo. mobility in a stamina type, and stillness in an attack type change up how they work by a huge margine, you lose precious stamina to be more slippery and evasive with mobile stamina, or "staller/evader". It's a big trade off to make, and making an attack bey stationary makes it more about high RPMs and constant hits to make up for its lack of speed and knockback.

@@bladekidWBO makes sense; how would you handle Balance in deck placement? For example: Def #1 Att #2 Bal #3
@bladekidWBO
@bladekidWBO 2 ай бұрын
@KeeganMcKinney that's the thing about balance types, you wanna see what combo of types, or more accurately, *how* you're trying to win and what you win against. Anti attack for example, works well in the first 2 slots really well! It's not as risky as attack, but still has KO power enough that you won't just throw your defense type into the Wizard Rod Den. Goon Elevate is kinda defense and kinda stamina, but has some good attack power. It's good basically anywhere, but try to see what place holds the most value to cover. Like if you have an anti attack and an attack, you could use Goon more as a stamina bey, as that's the main gap that isn't being covered.
