I saw a program where they were calling it a fake based on a small sample taken from the shroud. But it turned out the sample was taken from an area of the shroud that had been repaired. Unfortunately they wouldn't allow any further samples or access. If you look at the shroud there's something about it 🤔

There's lots of lies about this rag they call the Shroud of Turin, if the church allowed Scientists to examine the Shroud and then provided the Scientists with a small portion that had been repaired at a later date then doesn't that make the church dishonest in their dealings with Science? The church is supposed to be the Citadel of honesty and if we can't trust the church then perhaps they provided a fake piece of the shroud with the intention of denigrating Science when they made their findings, The Shroud is all about religious Mumbo Jumbo.

The Shroud of Turin is the world’s first selfie. 🙂 There actually is some paint on the shroud. Little specs that you have to have a microscope to see. They come from where artists touched their paintings to the Shroud. But there are no further examples of paint, certainly no paint strokes.

I have a question for a 'further discussion' - Jack said that they know that the victim/Jesus did not move out of the Shroud & was only within it 36 hours - He also said that the body did not go through the usual 'decomposition' but instead, he posits, 're-generated' - To me, that means that he 'came back to life' & so MUST have 'moved out of the Shroud' at some point (after 36 hrs) - It's that point I don't understand. However, he had also said that we/things exist at the same time in 2 different places - So, is he saying that the 'body' 'disappeared' form that 'physical' place & then came to exist/reappeared on another plane/place - If Jesus, he was seen/had 'risen'?????

Over 20 (I think 28) plant and flower images have been embedded in the shroud from around the head and the torso area. These plants and flowers and embedded pollen, have been identified and existed in and around Jerusalem at the time the shroud is said to have been woven (400 b.c. - 400 a.d.).

The image is of a man (XY). So 'if' the prevailing belief is that the man was crucified, hence the blood, are you saying the rest of the image is not "organic"? Which would dispel my long time belief that as this man decayed, the heat from this reaction generated basically an impression of the man onto the shroud. The line were these two fingers intersect is the place where they drove the nails, and it was done under an angle, that's why the nails went out on the other side near the wrist. Check out Barry Schwartz about this, he was the official photographer of the Shroud in the STURP team.

There is no reason to believe that the measurements of the radiocarbon ratios of the Shroud's linen were not correct. Demeaning the accuracy of the 1988 AMS method is not the way to falsify the hypothesis of a medieval date for the Shroud.

The samples were taken from an area that had been repaired by nuns in the Middle Ages. They used an invisible weave technique that makes it hard to distinguish the repair. Furthermore, taking all the samples from this area was in violation of the proposed methodology to take samples from multiple areas on the shroud.

@@markallen8022 Maybe this video doesn't offer us evidence that the Shroud was not 14th century, but other investigators have noticed the congruence of the faces of Jesus that are depicted on sixth century coins and icons with the face found on the Shroud. The similarity of features is so great that one reseacher estimated that the chances that sixth century coin dye engravers hit upun the features of Jesus' face that are on the Shroud by chance is about seven in a billion of billions. In other words, art history proves that the Shroud was extant in the sixth century. In was known as the Image of Edessa in that era.

Thursday night Jesus spent in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane praying. Friday morning, early -even before the rooster crowed at sunrise, the Roman soldiers came to arrest Him. This was the beginning of the first day. The events of the Passion described in this video as well as in Holy texts and elsewhere show that He was no longer alive long before the end of day 1. (remember that the evening and the morning are a day) Because it was the time for Passover, the women (still on Friday, day 1) asked to take the body for burial before sunset otherwise it would be hanging naked and abused on that cross for days. The burial party took Him to the tomb where they laid the body out on the shroud, covered the face with the Sudarium of Oviedo, then folded the rest of the Shroud over Him, left the tomb, whereupon the men of the party and/or the Roman soldiers rolled the door closed. The second day, Saturday, was spent in observance of Passover for the Jews. Meanwhile the Romans kept a guard outside the tomb to ensure His followers did not steal the body, knowing the prophecy of a risen Christ. Then on the morning of *the third day*, some of the disciples and women came to finish preparing the body and that is when they found the tomb empty save the two cloths and ran to tell The Good News to the others. ETA So, He was in the tomb for (part of) day 1, (all of) day 2, and (part of) day 3. This is shown by the research and study of Matthew's guest and his fellow scientists. Friday evening to Sunday morning covers 3 days and coincides well with a 36 hour timeframe.
