How did you find PE??

We just flew back from NYC premium economy, I tried to book meals but it only had options for specialised meals, not the standard meals? Agree the headsets are awful for "premium" I'm 6ft 3" so because like you say the person in front fully laid back in their seat I had no choice but you use their headrest to help me get out - would be nice if the armrests could be folded up in flight

Thanks Holly, that’s a good breakdown. Always interested in the how the points work out. I booked flights for August (this year) and had to use 64k along with companion voucher. To me 2 premium return flights in August (LHR to ATL) for just over 1k doesn’t seem too bad.

Thank you. The points will depend on how far you are travelling and also whether you are in peak or off peak season. I work out the cost per point to find a good value but you will need to find the cash price for that flight

Depends on the aircraft and price. The older type seats are on the 787 and the A330-300. The newer seats of 2.5 inches less width are on the A350 and A330-900neo. It also depends on how good economy is on the particular aircraft i.e. 787 = worst, A330 ( both types ) = best, A350 = in between. The newer seats are of course fresher and have better IFE, but its a big drop in comfort I'm afraid. Aircraft by Virgin aircraft : 787 : do it, a no brainer A350 : maybe, if its a good price A330-300 : probably, as the PE seats are the wide ones, but realise that economy is best there is on A330's ( if you're small why pay for PE ? ) A330-900neo : No, don't. The PE seats are the new narrow type whereas economy is as good as it gets on Virgin's fleet.
