This is a very useful video. One thing I like about annotating PDFs in Zotero is that I can mark up the PDFs in Zotero, and save the notes, but if I want to share the document with a student or colleague, I can just export the file and it won't be all marked up. But I have found that Zotero's OCR sometimes is a bit glitchy, so it's good to open a PDF in Adobe, run OCR on the document, safe it, and then open it in Zotero. That seems to clear things up.

I have an idiot level question: How do I import over 2000 pdfs into the Zotero v7 library at one time, together, as one complete action?

Not sure if this is mentioned in the video (I've been on the Beta for some time so I already know most of the features). The biggest disadvantage for me has been that the epub annotations don't seem to import into Obsidian. Not sure if it's been fixed yet, but last time I checked it still didn't work. Personally, i'd prefer to use ebooks but this makes it a non-starter for me until the plugin is updated. I think basically any plugin that pulls annotations won't work until there's an update because presumably Zotero considers the 2 formats totally different entities. So, if you're using ebook annotations, make sure it's compatible with anything else you might be using before you start doing highlights

Thanks for the video -- like a lot of people, I'm eager to try out Zotero 7. A couple questions: which Obsidian plugin has been updated for Z7? Also, does zotfile now work for Z7 or is there an equivalent, either in zotero or in a new plugin? I tried to figure this out from the Zotero forum but couldn't reach a conclusion about what is likely to work. Am afraid to update Zotero until I know.

1. The Zotero/Obsidian integration by M. Meyers has been updated. This is the plugin I use with my template for imports. The Obsidian Citations plugin shows last update in Sept 22. 2. Zotfile is no longer under development, so I doubt it would work in Zotero 7. 3. You can run both versions. Zotero 6 and 7 both use the same database. This is one way of getting around the plugin issue, but it would probably be better to move on and find alternatives in the ecosystem that are more likely to be maintained.
