Took my girls to see you, VP, and AP at the Cthulhu Ball last year. Whenever I play this song, my little one (4 at the time, she's 5 now) gets really happy and says, "That's my friend!" That was such a great show, it was wonderful seeing you play your cello for all the acts.

I just found here today on Free Music Archives and was instantly addicted! Great voice and great music. There isn't anything else that sounds like her; she's different enough to be interesting but not so different she's not listenable.

This song is so beautiful, I've had it stuck in my head as i walked around town today. I found myself striding in rhythm with the melody as it it rang through my mind.

@mirroredhour that's lovely, thank you so much for telling me! I just played at FaerieCon West where there was some lively discussion about the connection between steampunk and Faerie. :)

I recall watching you preform this particular piece at the gaslight gathering and...it took my breath away to say the least. I really love your work, your songs, lyrics, everything! You are extremely talented and because I was unable to buy your album on the spot then, I ended up making up for it tenfold on Itunes. My Ipod is now overflowing with your music -w- I'll be sure to mention you to all my friends and stalk you till the end. I hope you don't mind me featuring you on my Journal?

@mirroredhour no, I wrote those not having read the books and Melissa Marr discovered Cruelty and Secretly and felt they resonated perfectly with the story! It's kind of amazing how things line up like that sometimes.

@GilliLee I think there are some expressions that just happen when anyone plays cello and sings. Not denying that Rasputina was a HUGE influence of course! :) (I toured with them really briefly.)

But I am intentionally vague about the time periods of my stories, which makes them possibly steampunk or possibly current :)

@unwoman Honestly I think this song is more Steampunk than a lot of music that tries to be Steampunk. It's the instrumentation that really nails it for me, and the rhythm which has a very machine like quality.

@unwoman Thank You. I left you a "note" on your FB page/wall/whatever asking if you've ever performed in Chicago. I think you'de find an appreciative audience here. There is a rock/folk/cajun/alternative club in Berwyn, IL called "Fitzgerald's" that would be a PERFECT venue for you.

Just discovered it with the help of iTunes..really. Anyway, just love it. Now I know it's not a good thing to categorize things, but I'm just curious is this a type of steam punk or is it dance? Or a type of pop music. I'm just curious.

@unwoman Yes, exactly! Cruelty reminded me so much of how Donia thinks of Keenan. I'm sorry--I'm sure you're a woman with a lot of things to do, but lastly I just want to know: Have you read the series? If so, who is/are your favorite character(s) and why?

Dear Ms. Unwoman, I was just kidding about the "Will you marry me?" thing(Although, conceptually, I still think it's a good idea). I would like to know If I could get your permission to show your vid before/behind/above me at my next poetry reading. I write for a mrktng. company by day and I'm a writer (or, poet/performance artist) at night. I won't be making any money at this reading (it's just open-mic), so I WOULDN'T be taking advantage of you. It's sched. for Nov. 12th. Your thoughts?
@leapingpuma1113 жыл бұрын
@unwoman Certainly not. However, you are, without a doubt, the most talented cellatrix it has been my pleasure to come across in the last, oh, thousand years. Will you marry me?
