I use 3ds max for 15 years.. and I love your tutorials, they are useful for me. You could tell people who are starting now, that on 3DS Max, Ctrl + Z won't undo anything, so good lucky starting learnign 3Ds Max, and have a drink!

This has single handedly been the most useful video I think I've watched in the past decade in terms of finally breaking into UV mapping. I've always relied on the box UV map which worked for most of my cases, but after I discovered and started playing around with Substance Painter, I quickly began to realize I needed to buckle down and get a crash course in UV mapping. This video... is brilliant. Thank you so much.

To put 6 colors on a cube takes so much effort ? Wonderful software. I learned max academically 18 yrs back....forgot most of it.....i think it was UVW mapping that made me drop learning it further. Look at the amount of work to just put some colors on the sides a cube. I work in media and graphics, visual effects for past 12 years. I know when i see a process that is just toooooo long winding for the result it gives.
@onurdenizozdemir18743 ай бұрын
There are much simpler ways for that and you probably will not do this on a simple model such as a cube or cylinder. It's basically explaining how the concept works. But yeah, unwrap is just tedious if you ever need to use it.
@simplysurfing3 ай бұрын
@@onurdenizozdemir1874 > Hi, whats the simpler way you suggest to put 6 colors on a cube. Or 6 photos on a cubes faces. Sect face polygon and assign pic thru mat editor or drag the jpg and drop on the selected polygon face direct in the viewport ?
@onurdenizozdemir18743 ай бұрын
@@simplysurfing Yes something like that. Convert to editable poly and assign any material you want on any face. Or use something like corona multimap on diffuse slot to assign one random jpg to each face. Im sure most renderers have a variant for that.

I see that you're using max 19, is it because it's more stable than 2020? or is it because most plugins haven't released a 2020 version and vray 5? I'm looking to upgrade from 2016.
@tirmazi34 жыл бұрын
I guess it will be a good idea to stick to at least one version below the latest release, mostly because most plugins takes time to update to the latest MAX Version. P.S: I'm currently using 2018 for my workflow. be.net/tirmazi3
