Very well done - thanks for telling our story. And for visiting the best missile squadron out there!

Stationed at FEW in '74 to '77. Working to posture MM-III as MM-II were being replaced in the Weapons Maintenance Facility building MM-III up from wooden crates. And, I also worked in a silo as well. Yes it was surreal and yes it is a lot of responsibility to place on our young men and women. I'm proud I was part of that and proud of those who are doing it now. People who travel through those states where our nation deploys one of the legs of the triad are for the most part oblivious to the power on alert quietly but diligently waiting in the countryside they are passing.

Thank you, Naveed. Great story telling. As a former Missileer who pulled alerts from 1985 to 1989, I wish your story had given more time to featuring the Security Forces protecting the MAF & LFs.

Oh boy do I have good news for you! We have a whole OTHER episode just on SF AND TRF!! We decided to aeperate that from Minuteman. You'll see shoot houses, convoys, K9s, and yes the old two bladed Huey doing inserts and extracts!!

These stories are more critical than ever. Behind every one of these reality altering machines are human beings with a respect for their power, a sense of duty and purpose that is an integral part of our defenses.

Technology has come along way. Started in Security Police 1978 now known as SF (Security Forces). Stayed out on the MAF then was LCF (Launch Control Facility) for a total of 3 days. No cameras on neither the grounds or at the LF. If the site had no alarms or teams in 7 days, we had to physically check the site. One time found a whole side of the fence gone because a farmer got too close and pulled that side down. He or She never said a word about it. Have guarded the B-52s on alert with may or may not of been loaded. Cross trained to Command Post. A whole new way of looking at how things were done. Went to the Codes division which encoded the panels that the capsule crews and maintenance used to make the LCC and LF talk to one another. After retired to close to 30 years, still makes me sit back and say "WOW".

Great story thank you. In high school I was selected to tour a active Titan II launch complex. We were allowed to talk with the crew, see portions of the command center and walk through the cableway to get a quick view of the missile. This experience has stayed with me throughout my life. The training, dedication and professionalism of the men and women who support and staff these sites is incredible.

I was with the 90th OMMS at FEW in the early 90s. I have to say, I was shocked you were able to film inside the WSA. Nice to see the AF let you film in there, though you didn't show much. This is a nice representation of what goes on with MX and Ops teams. Thank you.

The 90SMW lineage goes back to the 90th Bomb Group of WW2. They were known as the Jolly Rogers after one of the group commanders. They flew B24 aircraft in the Pacific. A Skull and Crossed Bombs were painted on the tails. So what you see is a Skull and Crossed Bombs on the name tag.
