This was a side trail off from the saddle at the top of Siphon's draw in the Superstition mountains. The rest of the trail goes up to Flatiron, which I've been up to over a dozen times, including the two times doing the Superstition Ridgeline to the peak 5057. The Ridgeline is definitely one of my favorite trails, but it is an all day hike to go across and back, which I hope to do again before it gets too cold this year.
This trail I had passed before but never did it, but saw it on AllTrails so decided to do it yesterday. Heading up into the mountain the humidity from the rain the previous day definitely slowed me down, but also found out how bad of shape I'm in from taking road trips and Jeep trails all summer. I started the video at the bottom on the Siphons draw area and turned off the trail at the saddle, then from there I had it to myself with some beautiful views. Ran short on time so I'll have to come back another time and see if I can find the rest of the trail but wanted to get down before it got dark, which I did.
Video cuts off at the end because it got too dark and blurry to record more, the light in the distance at the end is pretty much the parking lot. The views coming from the sun hitting the rock gives off a nice color, and at certain times of the year cast a cougar shadow from a distance on the Superstitions. But the sun sets are always a beautiful sight to see coming out from here and eventually I'll watch one camping on Flatiron, but hope to do the Ridgeline and camp at the peak 5057 first. That video with be quite long as I hope to get a few more batteries and record the entire 6+ hour trek up to Flatiron and across the Ridgeline.
