I had a hard time understanding the up vs down unweighting turn. This really helped me to understand it in different level !

hi melen, your explanation is easy to understand, next time let's talk about what circumstance we can use up-unweighting and down-unweighting.

Thanks for watching ^◡^ One of the things I love about snowboarding is the endless variation of circumstances: terrain, snow and weather conditions; visibility and wind; turn size, shape and speed; and desired outcome in any particular day based on how I'm feeling and who I'm riding with. That's an endless list of circumstances! I hope after watching and trying this, that you are better equipped to make those choices for yourself out there in the slopes?

Thank you ^◡^ And yes, loving this board, and so stoked that my custom shape Aloha is now its own model: the Kona. My onesie is made by Korean brand ROMP

Love this analogy!! Could we use it to understand mid-weighting? Would love to see what mid-weighting is as it seems to take advantage of both

Hi Mellen, could you make a video about riding switch? I mean, how to practise it? And also: is it necessary to have the skill? Thanks for this video. I use mostly up-unweighting, i think. I reserve Down-unweighting for situations where i have to be very quick, like with moguls.

Hi Mellen, great explanation!thank you! But how about the timing in down unweighted? Is it just in the moment when edge change? I mean if the down unweighted and edge change happening in the same time? Thank you!

Nice work! Your mic sounds very muffled though. There are no high frequencies in your dialogue? Are you doing any post processing?

Hey! I remember your heel edge chatter video from 5 years ago and instantly recognized you from the way you teach while riding. I don't think much about my edge change, but I am working on bending the knees / getting low as the first part of my turn, so I must be mostly doing up-unweighted turns. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqPdh56rl62FrJo (My riding from last weekend!)
