UP Heartland Division Update 12/19/22 (How to make bridge pilings and fenders for a model bridge)

On this week's video, I start off by running a Union Pacific freight manifest and a Chicago Metra commuter train. Work also continues around the Calumet River bascule bridge scene with the addition of pilings and bridge fenders to keep the bridge safe.

Nice work! Those pilings really add to the scene, and at minimal expense. I assume that you will be dealing with that seam in the "river"? From my experience with water features, they need to be smooth and be fully sealed before you even think of mixing and pouring the resin "water".

Got a tip if your interested. Found out Chips Ahoy cookie container makes for great steel pile cassion. Pour plaster inside the cassion tube and add rock on top. Got a video if your interested on my channel.

What is your thought on having all locomotives having sound???? You kinda mentioned one had sound one did not???

Since I almost always consist my locos in groups of 2-3, I feel having them all equipped with sound is unnecessary as it all kind of blends together. Plus it saves me around $100 or so by just putting in a non sound decoder.

I was watching this video and you said you wanted the other up dash-9 t in the lead, all you have to do is swap out the shells and you will have the one you want with sound in the lead.

I thought about that too, but I had to send it back to ScaleTrains for a motor replacement and I had them add Loksound to it while it was there. So it all worked out.
