Wow they really upgraded their smoke machines. I bought the same one 3 years ago and this a huge jump up, good job AUtool. Still love mine though it doesn't have the newest features, but still gets the job done.

i have an 02 wrx i just bought "someone else's problems". I have a v7 sti jdm and timing belt, new oil and water pump, clutch, pressure plate, need the fly wheel then its overhaul time. then i want to do tenin street z coilovers. Then i need to do rotors and calipers. iits a money pit, and to think I want to do an RS build/restore next. I live in dorms on an AF base and I cant live out my dreams of working on the care the way I want to!

Don't give up on that Rex brother , I've done that swap it's worth the hassle ! Don't use the 5 speed if you can access a 6 speed ! The 6 speed really makes it come to life ! My version 7 JDM gets hammered every day for a year now and test the 8000 rpm every day ! I can't kill it , I've had 3 usdm WRX/STI Subies and killed every one within 6 months ! Just look at the flywheel on the 6 speed and you won't believe the difference ! I like all of them !

Could you do a video on how to clean the valves on a gasoline direct-injection Subaru?
@svtwrc5 жыл бұрын
GFB Go Fast Bits is a good company and they do make quality parts but even the manual for some of the good Bypass valves resirculating too , but they need to be cleaned and maintained . The problem with most is that they have too many connections and may have multiple screws and bolts. The stock Bypass is so good and it has a small port in it that keeps the pressure even on both sides

When will people learn, aftermarket crap is just that, crap. People getting rich off of sub-par junk parts.
@kevingallineauii93535 жыл бұрын
Some of it is quality. Problem is buying a performance part and making the mistake that performance equals quality. Just because something is expensive or is something the car didn't come with does NOT mean it is good. The old adage "you get what you pay for" rings true here.
@boosti_alex14285 жыл бұрын
Some aftermarket parts can be better than OEM... Just depends who you buy from.
@802Garage5 жыл бұрын
Yeah it really just depends on brand. For a BOV anything under $100 is generally going to be risky. That said plenty of people make the cheap ones work, especially with a little modification. Of course if your Subaru is not tuned then putting on any BOV instead of a recirc is a bad idea.

Could leaks like that cause an exhaust smell to come through the vents. Also, do you have a video where you replace the remaining leaking hoses. Thanks.

Just bought this smoke machine. I read somewhere about being careful with pressurizing the crank case and removing the oil fill cap when testing. What's a safe pressure to test at?
@hansgoranhogstrom19005 жыл бұрын
can you tell us how you use the smoke machine, maybe upload a video on that? And do you have to pull the plugs to use it? what pressures are fine without pulling them? Asking because I have a plug with bad threads on my 95 volvo 940 turbo and Id rather not try and remove it until I have A: a car I can borrow for a while in case it goes bad pulling the plug and I have to order parts or B: I already have all the parts I need to pull and reassemble the head wether that would be a new head or repaired head with thread inserts. It sucks, some smuck before me screwed up both the oil drain plug and one of the plugs. I managed to get the drain plug off but I will need a new one for the next oil change and I also did the plugs but left one in there as it wasnt threading very nicely so after like half a turn I just turned it back in. :( Im contemplating wether to try and remove it and massage the threads, but its not too likely to work out but cheaper and easier if it does work out than pulling and swapping/repairing the head. -_-

Hey Mr.Subaru, i have a 2002 wrx 2.0. I been having power steering issues for as long as i can remember. I have swap power steering hoses (pressure lines and rubber hoses) power steering pump and rack n pinion (both remanufactured). Bought a new power steering reservoir. I am still having noise issues with it and bubbles. I have bled the system so many times but cant figure out what can be the problem. If you have any advice for me i would really appreciate it.Thank you for your time and Merry Christmas.

hey MrSubaru, I was wondering if you or maybe another commenter could help me out. I have a 2003 wrx and the previous owner said he messed around with the wastegate actuator arm to fix an underboosting issue. He claimed to turn the arm inwards a couple of turns and now that it is winter here I am experiencing serious overboost. Honestly afraid to drive the car, can't afford a blown motor :)). continuing onto the question from the factory how many threads should be visible on the wastegate arm of a stock td04 turbo for a 03 wrx. Thank you for the help in advanced!
