Big thumbs up for Dixxon shirts. Incredibly comfortable and they run on the larger side so can be used as an overshirt on top of a base layer or T-shirt.

Thanks you for the recommendations and history. I have 3 Dixxons on the way. I've been wearing flannels for years but wasn't aware of Dixxon so thanks for the video. Also, still loving the Prometheus Design Werx SHADO pack. Keep up the great reviews!

If I fly anywhere i prefer to wear as much natural fibres as possible as I don't want melted material sticking to my skin/flesh in a worst case scenario.

i have that Brandit lined shirt/jacket in the Green version. i basically wear it to walk to work every day over my hoodie while its cold. even in the pouring rain i stay try under it. ive also got 2 of the dixxons on return as their size guide said they run large so i ordered 3xl. but they were too tight, ive returned to replace with 4xl's

Oh man. I think I'd be in exactly the same wardrobe situation. I'm definitely a huge fan. The price of the shirts do seem to mysteriously jump in price a wee bit as they cross the Pond however I'm more than willing to pay for a shirt that's going to last as long as these do. I need to get on to them to do a Moorlander EDC collab shirt 😆 That would be my ultimate career high

Earlier I thought that the flannel means the material, but lately I realized it can be wool, cotton or plastic (and the mix of these) so only the pattern is common. For the sizes it is useful if you include your height (in cm also will be even better for metric nations) as nowadays the categories (like the Large) means almost nothing, e.g. with Fjallraven I experienced with two jackets with the same size (L) and sizing chart(!) that one was too slim fit and the other felt like +2-2.5 size bigger. For all of these shirts, especially the plastic technical like ones an important info was missing: washing/care differences (e.g. hand wash only without softener?)

Yes pretty much. They're made from lots of different fibres nowadays. Flannel and/or checked shirts are pretty diverse. With the sizes, I feel like the modern sizes have been adjusted recently. My body shape hasn't change all that much over the last 15 years however the sizes of items has started to feel a wee bit smaller. I think European companies are turning to US sizes to not confuse the market there. It's a bit backwards, however they're a much larger buying power so I guess it makes sense. I'm not sure my mental health can deal with purchasing extra large though 😆 I was thinking of talking about washing instructions. With most of them being poly or poly cotton they can pretty much take anything, where as the pure cotton one needs a bit more care and attention

please tell me what size Volk shirt you have and what size Dixxon shirt?

Volk are EU sizes, whereas Dixxons are in US. I have the Volk in XLarge, and the Dixxons in Large

Very nice review, thank you! We have a shop here (in France) where you can buy rather cheap clothes, but the quality is really amazing. Every two years i buy a flanel shirt, it costs around 10 Euros. I take them for work or when i walk the dog (run the dog through the woods or over the beach ^^) and after the "saison" i put it in the clothes collection (but they are still very wearable). They bring out other colors every time, very nice. 🙂 One of my all-time-clothing, i love them.

@@MoorlanderEDC It's "Gemo" and i know them only from France. Never seen them in Germany oder Spain ... I have to say that here you can find very good items in supermarkets etc., too. The best Jeans around i do have from "Hyper U". Only around 25 Euros, very nice fit with many pockets (very gray-manish). They have very good clothes overall (budget and some local brands). We do also have a "Sport 2000" here (don't know if they are in the UK, too), but they sell mostly pretty expensive "sport" stuff (*cough*), but sometimes they have very good shoes on offer, like the Merrell boots i found there for half the normal prize. ^^

I recommend to try Helkon Pilgrim shirt, they use interesting mix of material there: 27% Polyester/54% Nylon/19% Sorona® Polyester. The Sorona addition makes it so, it does not get smelly if you are active. I got both pilgrim and greyman shirts, both very nice. I like Greyman cut more, but pilgrim features(two zipped chest kinda "Napoleon" pockets, hook an loop chest pockets - same design as all of their Defender MK2 shirts) are so good, its crazy. BTW i heard some comments on Volk and Dixxon about being sweaty non-breathable "plastic" material shirts. Is there truth in some of these?

I'll check out the Pilgrim. As far as the sweaty shirts are concerned... I guess.. Kind of. They are polyester shirts so they're not as breathable however I consider myself to be a bit of a sweaty beast and I'm OK. They're very hot in the summer for sure. I don't know how Californian cope with them. Through the other three months I either wear by themselves or over a tshirt. I guess the honest answer is yes as they're polyester, however not more or less any any other poly/poly blend shirts I have. Hope that helps 🤙
