Thank you so much Samaneri. I'm extremely grateful for the work you are doing. It's very special to hear your voice reading these writings from the masters. Peace and Blessings...

This morning (Illinois, USA 23 May 2023) my daughter texted me with words of resentment and rage. As I tried to use my breath to stop me from being reactive, my mind lost its balance. I have adored the readings of the MASTERS by Samaneri Jayasar. This was waiting for me. These words brought me back to forgiveness and balance. There are no coincidences. OM

Does she have legitimate reasons to express that resentment? Should you be using your energy to connect with her and amend your relationship?

Pranams Samaneri Jayasara,Beautiful direct pointing......Alot of spiritual teachings seem to add to the confusion of the mind. As one moves forward on the path,the simplicity of the teaching is like drinking nectar. You do not like that feeling of discontent.....You become still[inside] and start moving away from all things that disturb the mind. So i really appreciate that you have maintained this beautiful site for all seekers.....Keep moving forward until there is no you !!! Or should i say only you.

I’ve been working on following the breath. My enemies (my ego/ self) try to make my breath into something else. Sometimes I feel like I’m going mad. But my wife tells me that others working on breath experience the same thing and go to doctors who tell them nothing is wrong with them. A good monk said once that when a caterpillar changes into a butterfly or moth, it doesn’t get stronger, but weaker. I’m hoping that’s the case with us folks practicing mindfulness. Thank you Samaneri for all these recordings 😊

So much of this makes sense to me. I can certainly understand that there would be great benefit in disengaging from stress and turmoil that results from latching on to many aspects of external life like politics, family arguments, etc. However, part of what she says seems to suggest that we might want to totally disengage from all external sensory stimulus, including all stimulus from senses like sight and hearing. When I hear this I wonder about things like sunsets, waterfalls, and Mozart symphonies. I wish I could understand better whether she intends to include these latter things when teaching that we should stay away from external sensory involvements. I am certainly open to the determination that the misunderstanding is mine.
@SamaneriJayasara Жыл бұрын
During formal meditation it is worthwhile disengaging from all sensory input and stimulation in order to deepen the practice through calm/samadhi. This includes the practice to allow the sensory input of thoughts to settle as well. Sensory input may still be received but we practice to remain uninterested, letting go of being swept away by them or reactive to them. However, the practice will ultimately result in the mind being able to maintain equipoise, awareness and centredness in the midst of sensory activity and input in daily life. We cannot cut off sensory inputs, unless we cut off all our sense doors, rather the middle way practice is to develop wisdom in regards to them. Neither pushing or pulling/clinging, lessening our identification with them or as them. Then the mind is free of liking, disliking, attachment and aversion and sees and understands their essential empty nature - impermanent, not-self, and if clung to the cause of stress and suffering. The teachings often encourage us to be like a bee landing on a flower in regards to sensory input. The bee kisses the flower lightly, takes what it needs and flies off - no destruction, no clinging, no attachment. Light and free (and grounded in wisdom) is the way of the middle path when it comes to the senses.🐝🌻

@ 39.20 "You will find you have less and less to say..." Wouldn't this cause problems ? People might see it as rudeness, if there were big gaps in all the conversations or if they had to do all the work, especially in phone calls. It could be upsetting to those we are close to and they might think they aren't dear to us any more. Am I missing something here?
@Spiritualsimplicity Жыл бұрын
Being mindful about what you say, how you perceive and and interpret the world must lead to saying less. When we wholly engage all that is- there’s only appreciation- less words. Will it cause more problems? No because we are removing the unnecessary comments which create confusion of speech. We listen intently and truly grasp our world as it communicates. Those around us will notice a calm or peace and when we do speak, the few words are POWERFUL.
@ernestweber5207 Жыл бұрын
I don't think she said you will have nothing to say, just less and less. You will listen more intently and say only what needs to be said if there is anything to say.
