This song rings so true for those boys raised out in the country. So many times one of my son's would get a call from someone that needed help, and all 6 of them would be in the truck on the way in what ever they were wearing. Some times they would take off wet and in nothing but swim trunks. They are on the way to help before your off the phone. As a southern mom it makes me feel so much pride when I see them all loading up in the front and back of the truck to go help out when someone needs them.

I have a Holla boy and it is a blessing to have a family friend. When I say family friend. I'm saying he's family. I've called him a lot. And vice-versa. But you both absolutely right. When you said it is hard to depend on someone. My wife and my buddy have definitely two people I can always count on. The old days attitude of "the road goes both ways" was replaced with "time is money". After over two decades of helping everybody and their sister out never asking anything giving them the shirt of my back working my ass off helping tons of people.... I got into a couple accidents which required multiple surgeries (9 thus far) which obviously has required me to be next to completely down and out (had a hard time even lifting a milk jug at one point).... literally nobody is to be found. lol Never again will I help anyone without them helping me first and then investing a equal amount of effort back into them. (unless its a emergency that I can't myself turn away from). Literally years of my life wasted that I could have just invested into myself.... most people suck and it gets worse with age, it is what it is. hahaha
