Y’all definitely need a trip to the country!! My neighbor is a few acres down the road.. I grew up with 100+ acres of gorgeous country to play on., We would stay out in the woods, playing in the creek from morning until we heard an adult yelling for us to come up for dinner and go back out until dark.. Then my teenage years, before cell phones, everyone would meet at the Walmart parking lot at 7pm every Friday & Saturday night to figure out what we were doing! If it was football season, we would meet after the game. I have tried living in the city, but I felt like everyone was packed in there together! Living out in the country is a different way of life.. Slower, simple and relaxing... it’s a little after 5am and I just woke up on my porch, where I fell asleep at around midnight:).. Your neighbors are always there to help. The one down fall of living in a small town is everybody knows your business, lol.. But the only ones that will talk about it are the elder women around town:)... The population is diverse also.. you get a lot more property for your money out here! Whatever you are paying to live in the city could put you in a massive sized home out here!! Y’all would love it and it’s a great place to raise children! Also, extremely proud to say that two of my hometown boys got drafted this weekend! We all knew they would make it to the NFL and they did!!!!! So I gotta shout out Chazz & Sage Surratt!!!!! So much respect for their family for keeping the focused and on the right track. Those boys very, very rarely showed up to a party after a game, never seen them with any girls... Chazz had a 4.75 gpa when he graduated. They are both smart and extremely talented! I’m so excited for them!!!!! I’m in NC, just west of Charlotte.. I’m just a short drive to the mountains and a couple of hours from the ocean.. the best of both worlds! You most definitely need to visit the outer banks of NC and go see the wild horses on the beach!!! It’s one of the most amazing things to see... I’ve seen them a million times, but it always feels like the first time. I’m done rambling!!! Another great reaction!!!

Hey Guys, Hubby and I have been watching reactions for about a year and a half. We watch all kinds of music even though we are Boomers and live on 70s rock and roll and love watching young people react to the live concerts on KZbin. Today, we clicked on your channel for the first time. We did not know who Upchurch is until today. When we saw My Neck of the Woods, a road sign says Little Pond Creek Road. I knew immediately he was in Cheatham County. We have lived out here in the 'woods' of Cheatham County for 20 years and Upchurch describes perfectly what goes on out here 20 miles from Nashville. We live out here because there is 'freedom' to do what you want and neighbors are an acre away. We are city people from Dallas, but love the country lifestyle even though we both work in Nashville. It is worth the drive to go from city to country in 20 minutes. We like the old Outlaws (Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson) you should check out their songs....they are timeless. My 3rd cousin moved out to north Dakota to a town, where there is literaly 1 church, school, PD station for miles. The population is like a few hundred. However, they take care of their own like everybodys family. Chilli cook offs, community BBQs, harvest festivals. That brings new meaning to small town living.👌👌🤠🤠

I was born and raised in a rural area in North florida, it's very much a free and outlaw vibe out here. No traffic lights for at least 20 miles in any direction. Just corn, cows, and trailers. I wouldn't trade my freedom out here for anything. I do whatever I want in my yard with no worries. We shoot stuff, have massive fires, and drink/smoke wherever whenever. Y'all need to have at least one friend in the country in your circle lol just for the experiences.

Country life is the best grandpa used to wake me up on the weekends at like 2 o’clock in the morning just to go for a four wheeler ride and we get out in the middle of our trails and he cut it off and pretend it died scared the crap out of me. go on a ride to the candy store which is just a store full of food in the middle of nowhere and having bonfires telling old stories, ghost stories, camping , and muddin it was a lot of fun

When you get time and money for a good restful vacation, I recommend looking for someplace rural with a rentable cabin. Be prepared to drive a ways for supplies, and pack some good walking shoes. Country air and nature are a wonderful recharge for the soul.

During the summer any pool of water off the side of the road that is big deep enough in a creek or river is where we swim. The a rope up in the tree and swing in. We call them rose holes. There's cars parked all down the side of the road.

It's a creek where trees are along the side and a rope tied to a limb that has knots tied at the bottom that you grab and get onto the second knot. Walk back then run n swing out holding on then let go. Sometimes they are at lakes but they get took down a lot from lakes. They dont bother the rope swings at the "swimming holes" that are in random spots on a back road. Just pull off the road n walk to it n swim in the creek with the fish and snakes. That's exactly what he's saying 😆

I love living rural and small town. Neighbors are better in small towns for the most part and when you live rurally neighbors are even more important because you rely on each other, if ou field is being hayed I know that I can count on my neighbors to help as do they with us. You know about Mr. Johnson up the mountain that has a lumber mill that you are able to use and for that you help with his projects. Bartering is a huge part of it. Life is truly different, Internet has limits and Cell Phone reception is lacking so everyone goes to that one pull out area where we all get service. It doesn't take much to get out of the city life and there is much more to life then what online people worry about. Learn to unplug and say No haha. It is perfectly ok to tell someone no and disagree with people. I just like to smile and say have a nice day. it take 2 people to argue, and there bs is not worth the time it takes, since there is not common sense being used most likely haha.

I bet y’all could find some nice folks near y’all that could expose y’all to what country/rural life is like. It doesn’t have to be a huge transition either. We live in Texas on some acreage about 25 minutes from a city of about 150,000, so we have the luxury of peace, our children going to a small 2A school where we know all the teachers, it’s racially diverse and kind, while still being able to go “into town” and go to a nice restaurant/work/go shopping. It’s crazy how moving one county over can drop your taxes by half while you get so much more. Plus my drive to work is the same as people living in the urban area, but no traffic jams. Any we have are caused by cows or tractors 🤣 But we don’t get the stress of the city. Moving out here 7 years ago was the best decision we made. We have people around us with the same values raising their children the same and being supportive of each other. I wish everyone could have this, we would all be nicer people. 💛💛

Being where you are now is definitely City n Beach. I was down there for 7 years. My buddy is up in northern Florida and you can get that country feel but still be in driving distance to the beach or to a big city. But yes having land to do as you please is an awesome feeling.

You should check out Topher "County Kid" Swimming Holes is any pond or lake where you can go swimming. Sometimes they will be flooded quarries where rock used to be mined. The swimming hole in the video looks like that kind, but might not be. Small towns got annoying neighbors too. Gossip is a human condition. Saying is: Don't sh1t in your own nest - meaning: if you gonna be stupid, like have an affair, do it outside of town cuz in a small town everyone knows your business, and can keep you updated on it if you forget what you were gonna do next. And we don't have city police, we rent the Sheriff's deputies for 30 hours coverage each month. But we do have loaded guns to deal with varmints, 2, 4, or no legged. (stray dogs, racoons, possums, coyotes, rattlesnakes, copperheads, water moccasins, burglars, etc.) City government revenue/budget is less than the poverty line for a family of 4 - so don't count on government to be fast or even available. Living in the country can be hard work. If you have cows, goats, or sheep for milk you can't get to it when you feel like it. You have to milk them on their schedule, no skips or misses. When its 20 miles to the nearest store, doctor, hospital, ambulance, gas station, etc. you have to be prepared to handle emergencies yourself. When you raise your own food, you have to tend the garden daily. When you can, you assembly-line the production. When you hunt mushrooms you have to know which are edible and which will kill you. When you have a flat, there is no shoulder to pull off to change it - you have to drive to the nearest pasture entrance, drive-way, or abandoned building and lot to change the tire. If you hunt or raise your own meat, you have to know how to process it.

Your definitely a great couple..please don't wait too long to make that move. Also the state of Missouri has a lot of country in it.
