It was funny 5 years ago when Mac Lethal said all this stuff. Not funny after 20 other rappers use the same angles. Tom is from Canada, oh my what a clever diss. Tom has braids and long blond hair, yup didn’t hear that before. Plus Church looks like Denis the Menace grew up and started smoking meth. Tom looks nothing like Denis the Menace so that didn’t make sense. I’m waiting for someone to come hard enough to make Tom stop making his millions and have to come back. And this failed big time.

@@Dank-rc6mt honestly I think it's relevant because he still looks the same and Upchurch is saying he is fake in his music and his look is fake and he took offense to Tom saying he could do what he does better but can't even decide what he wants to look like. I never thought of it hurting anyone until we were hanging out on the corner one day, and this old lady that was like a grandma figure to most of us walked by while we were talking really loud and dirty. I saw the disappointment in her eyes. We all quit when we saw her, and she said hi to us all, like she didn't hear anything. That's just the kind of lady she was. I went to her house later that day to apologize, and made it a point to change my lingo. I know it's just words, but I figured if I felt a certain way about saying it in front of some people,then I Shouldn't say it at all.

I love both Tom and Ryan, but where they divide ...Ryan is 100% country ...and his singing voice is golden smooth. No comparison. On the rap skills ...both are fire. But when it comes to writing, production, marketing, business, etc ...Tom is the BOSS. Church don't produce his own beats, and his marketing is almost non-existent. Ryan has Bluce for videos and Tom has Nova. Both have their own styles - Ryan more natural/country, Tom more Hip-Hop/Rock. It don't make one right and one better ...its who they are. Tom may be from Canada, but he's American by choice. Pride don't belong only to naturalized citizens. That's Church's prejudice. Tom's bag is politics, mental health, and being Independent. Church's bag is being country in every rap, rock, and country song he does. They are both trailblazers. I think they are trolling us all and planned this whole battle rap shit ...or Ryan is listening to the wrong people and digging his own ditch - and if so ...Tom should just keep climbing and don't look back. I'd hate because I really love Upchurch and want to see him continually succeed.

Upchurch fans should feel embarrassed for him over this. All this did was demonstrate how insecure, petty, and unprofessional Upchurch must be if this is how he responds to another artist saying they may try their hard at country rap someday and do it better than anyone else. Tom's offhand remarks don't meet the standards of eliciting a diss track. All this does is show how desperate and insecure Upchurch must be by not wanting anyone else to even compete with him in the same genre. He should welcome the competition and increased exposure Tom MacDonald would bring. Not frantically try to deter him from even entering into the same field as him upfront in advance. This only shows how fragile Upchurch is if another artist's offhand remarks trigger him this much. This entire production was unnecessary and childish. Meh, I am part black and my grandfather was 100% black... Upchurch or ACAL using the N-word just sounds so natural, not forced, and not racist. About the only pure white dudes where it doesn't sound off-putting to me.

I also think Upchurch’s use of the N word was a shot at how Tom censors even the least offensive curse words just to make the gestapo of the algorithm happy.

Church used to be big but I think his popularity is not like it used to be. Tom got almost 2 million views in the first 8 hours and church has gotten under 200k in like 3 days. He's had massive hits but a lot of his new stuff doesn't get a ton of views
@viracocha037 ай бұрын
I have said this a few times but ill say it again. The song is good, the insults are good in general. That being said the insults (for the most part) really don't fit with. Its only in the narrative Ryan is trying to create around Tom that they may make sense.. There are a few bars that are fitting but for the most part its just a bunch of insults and he twists Tom's lyrics and at one part a scene from a video to fit the twisted narrative Ryan has in his head about Tom. I just feel like its more of a personal insult track that really just comes across as Ryan being angry about what ever and lashing out like a child. It really screams jealousy but I have no idea what Ryan would even be jealous of. They are both successful in their own ways.

Mr. MacDonald does not need to involve himself in anything that takes his focus away from what he has accomplished so far. The recent troll rap with Ben Shaprio has spread across the globe and is getting every human being talking about it. Finally something like this makes a big enough impact on America to spark real talk about real things.

That word has been part of the white homies vocabulary since they made gansta rap famous. Who you think were buying all the snoop dog records? That word isn't the same anymore. There are a lot more derogatory racist words being used now than that one.

I caught that too buuuuutttt a country boy who has a Confederate flag tattooed on him really shouldn't us that word. Like I know what the flag really stood for but the connection that people make about it with racism should make him be a bit more careful especially in today's society
@davidsanders817 ай бұрын
@@benji0621I felt the same way. I don't use it at all.I consider myself creeksquad. I'm from the south. I even had a flag in my window when I was a kid to keep the Jehovah's witnesses from knocking on my door in the morning. I'm by no means a Tom fan at all. I liked the diss but It definitely took away from the whole track in my opinion. I don't think anybody should use that word anymore personally. It also makes southern people look dumb. We already get enough disrespect as it is..
@benji06217 ай бұрын
@@davidsanders81 exactly that part!!!! I'm a Texan and a country boy myself born and raised. In todays world there isn't any room for that anymore. All it does is detract from whatever it is your saying especially as southerners. We have a hard enough time getting taken seriously and sounding uneducated to the rest of the world let's not make them think we are ignorant as well. But I don't like that anyone uses it no matter the color. I understand the idea of taking back power of the word for African Americans but sadly it does as much for them as it does for southerners it makes them sound like they are thugs or uneducated and that isn't always true for them as well. And my theory is if all people of character stop using it then we would openly be able to see who the real racists are based on who uses that word. As it stands we can't even do that on white people because we have people like church teaching the world that it's ok. And while I love church to death my man has been making some iffy moves lately and this isn't going to help. Luckily his fan base is the underground version of swifties and pretty diehard so maybe he will be ok. Just wish he wouldn't do certain things as a role model

@@benji0621 I don't expect Tom to reply. I do expect Tom to make a song that addresses using the N. Word. That alone would win over the battle for many people and not have to address anything Church said. Cracker and honky aren't the same either. Many have tried to compare them. I've been to a honky tonk and I'm from Florida the cracker state. We even had a rodeo event I attended called Cracker Day. 🤷

You and Knox Hill both called out the N word line... Church was wrong. BUT, I think he did it intentionally because he knows Tom wont say it... he even specifically said he wouldn't say it, in "White Boy" which this song heavily leans into in both title and cadence. Hell, it was a major part of Tom and Adam's beef before they sorted it out, because Adam most definitely will say it (See his song "Racism")... They even made a short making fun of it to promote Brave 2: kzbin.info20Yt1EJeFOw

We knew every color, were friends with every color, date every color, and no one gives a shit about what words are used. My husband is a 43 yr old white and Native American man. He grew up in East Nashville and grew up saying the word. He says it everyday. Its part of his vocabulary. I dont personally like anyone using it. It sounds terrible. But its who he is and it is what it is. Can't change how you were raised. No one bats an eye when he talks...no matter the color. Its time to grow up and love one another. Period.
