Looks like you have some fun work ahead :) - nice gear and am looking forward to the cocoon review (always wondered why they just don't make a hammock built into the over/under quilt)

I've had the Mountainsmith Frostfire 2 for over 20 years - solid pack, and never had anything break. It's seen a lot, and still just like new. A very high quality company.

I just did a backpacking, hammock camping trip into the Selway Crags and used 2 of the down throws as an underquilt. We were at 5200ft the first night and spent the next 3 nights at 6,320ft. Temps were down into the mid to high 30s with one day and night steady and gusty rain. I stayed warm and since I was using a small tarp the outside throw got a little wet but didn't seem to soak through(shiny side out). IMHO they are definitely a good alternative for the DIY'er looking for a less expensive alternative to some of the underquilts on the market.

Dang man. You've got some good taste in bags and packs. Bags like that Snugpack Cocoon, sure have been a long time coming. It just makes so much sense to create a small closed microclimate around the hammock as apposed to trying to using 3 different blankets. The mountain smith stuff looks cool, and the first bag is really interesting. One of the major issues with canvas bags has been their lack of a frame. That one looks really cool. I know that the company has been getting lots of attention on BCUSA. I am excited.

I am looking forward to watching your reviews, Krik. Can you please show how to remove the frame of the Stubben? Fjällräven says this is possible, however I did not succeeded the time I tried. Thank you! Fabian

I love the bright yellow interior of the bag. Like women's purses, the lining is usually dark and that makes it hard to see what's in your purse. Bright is Beautiful.

It's a great pack and very well built--it will last a lifetime and your kids will then fight over it:) What you would expect from Fjallraven. Old school look, but with the latest technology. It's surprisingly light in weight and well built as I stated above. I do wish it came with a waist belt, but it's really not needed because you shouldn't load it out beyond 25 lbs. There is an option to add one though. I love that you can sit on it--also a cool little cover you can "drape" over the top to protect it. There is a few things I would change, but very few.......great pack especially with the two side pockets added--adds more room for gear. I usually load it out to 15-20 lbs and with ultralight gear. If you like to hunt this bag is great and built for that--can shoot off the bag and it's just cool to put it down and take a rest on it---it's also built to open it up while sitting to obtain things inside the main compartment of the pack--another cool option. Anyway, I will stop the rant. I am excited to see what Krik thinks of the pack....it's also very comfortable. Good luck my friend.

Like gear review but and yes but (lol) love the videos that aren't gear review related like much more. As channels grow it seems they get into gear review mode as more stuff gets sent to them free. Don't forget roots of the outdoors as gear is good but the outdoors videos are where it's at. (Me personally speaking).

Krik, thanks again buddy. I have been waiting to see what you think of the Stubben pack. I love mine. There are a few things I would have changed but overall pleased with it--another winner from Fjallraven IMHO. I just love all their gear from packs to clothing--top notch. I also have that exact blanket and I did purchase it from Costco--I haven't seen back on the shelf since I bought as they all sold out very quickly--I mean $20? Maybe I can find it on Costco's website. I wish I could find more because they make great Christmas gifts.......I drape mine over my wife each night in bed--only thing I don't like is they are slippery little suckers and fall off easily if you're not careful:) Anyway, great blanket and have been using mine now for over a year.....thanks again buddy and I look forward to your upcoming videos....
