Hi Cindy!🌷🦋🌸 How are you doing? I am loving this junk journal tutorial set! I have been receiving through AAA of Washington, travel books and cruise books, so I have been saving/cutting up pictures and maps for journal and paper ephemera. It has been so fun, and I have even found some pretty scenery, floral, even food photos in magazines that I have been taking advantage of using. It’s funny how when you start looking at items in books and magazines you see so many uses for them! Anyway... you do such a great job of presenting and sharing ideas, as well as demonstrating so many options for your papercraft/ journals! I know I say this often, but you’re a very good teacher!! So thank you, as always for sharing your thoughts, ideas and time with us! You rock!!🌸🦋🤗💖Lori💕

I haven’t watched the first two videos, but I will watch them after seeing this one. In my opinion using stuff around the house is exactly what scrapbooking is about. If I come across a unique or pretty piece of mail or magazine I save it to use later. I also use masking tape and draw a design on it and use it like washy tape. Until I saw this video I didn’t realize the booklets I make had a name. 🤔

New sub! I really appreciate your demonstrating easy methods of creating junk journals. When I first began viewing junk journal videos I had the same sinking feeling as when I first watched bullet journal videos. I thought I had to be an artist, calligrapher, chart every behavior I did, own a variety of pens with names I couldn't pronounce in various "point sizes," etc. It wasn't until one of the videos included a link to the person's website who created the "bullet journal" - bulletjournal.com/. There I learned that the creator, Ryder Carroll, grew up with learning disabilities and had to find ways to be organized & productive. I was DELIGHTED to discover THE "Bullet Journal" that has now swept the world and KZbin was EXTREMELY simple - one book, one pen, a simple method of daily planning. Ahhhhhhhhh......I can do that!!! Thus it was with junk journals. They did look "junky" (I originally thought that was the point and that didn't appeal to my perfectionism) but the "junky look" involved rarified tools such as gesso (what IS that goop???) and cropodiles (What in the WORLD is that???). Never heard of "washi tape" before junk journals. Apparently one also had to spend a fortune in printables galore, distress ink, water colors, cutting mats, cutting tools, at least 10 rulers (why isn't one enough?), an awl (hadn't heard that term in awhile), and on and on. If one is setting out to create junk, why all the expensive tools? (I later learned the concept originated from a time when people didn't have "store bought" stationery or photo albums. PLUS, journals (which to my admitted preference for the written word to visual) had SO much junk in them there wasn't any space left to journal - as a verb. Even though the creators proclaimed, "There is so much room here to journal" - it had to be done over something glued in, sewn in (I'm 67 and the last time I sat at a sewing machine was in 9th grade Home Economics Class!), or painted. I drool over fresh new notebooks/journals with LOTS of blank pages. It has only been the last few weeks that I've found tutorials re: junk journals, like yours, that don't need tons of expensive tools nor artistry and one can truly use what they have. I think I'm ready to get started!!! God bless you!!!

Welcome. I appreciate you watching and subbing. A person can certainly add more and more to creating journals and be more artsy. I guess my take is to use what you have and learn the different methods. Then you can apply them to your own creative style or likes. I love demonstrating ways that anyone can do, if I can. I hope you enjoy. This recent series is step-by-step so more in depth but you certainly can forward through them. I do all kinds of DIYs but after recently moving I have found my time limited to do a lot of them. Unpacking has been a process. Blessings to you! Let your creativity shine! ☀️ use the tools you have and have fun! ❤️🤗

@@CindyALewis Ugh...moving! I feel you as moving is my least favorite "activity." Packing more than unpacking but, as you said, definitely a process. :)
