I love your garden art. I have made several pieces myself including the butterfly. I use the same glue but after a while my pieces have come apart. I think I will repair what I have and make some more as I have several pieces of glass that I have thrifted over the years. Thank you for showing yours.

What did you use for adhesive? I recommend E6000 or silicone epoxy.

Has there been any problems with E6000 in extreme Arizona heat or Minnesota winter cold? Will the glue hold up under these conditions?
@MyCraftyDen4 жыл бұрын
I deliberately left this piece in the garden thos fall. Right now it is sitting just above the snow and it seems to be holding up. Nothing falling off and we have had quite a few nights of -20 degrees celcius.

The trick is to make sure the pieces are have no moisture inside. Then seal completely around when you add your adhesive.

Suggestion. When doing video it is best to either show your process as you are narrating. It is easy to lose your audience when you are speaking directly in the camera without showing your products or process.

Cannot believe people use the depression glass in this manner! It's way to pretty for that. I collect the pink depression glass and would never use it for this purpose. Are u aware of how it all started?

I used to collect carnival glass so I studied a lot on the value and history. Unfortunately i tried to sell it off and almost had to give it away. Now if I find a beautiful piece I love to make something that I will really enjoy and can share with others. No one looks in my cabinets, lots of people look at my garden.

Loved all 3 PC's. I suspect the seahorse once held bubble bath or oil. Thinking back to my childhood before everything was plastic. The pink plates are beautiful, and such a creative way to use them. The butterfly was my favorite. I can't put my finger on why, but the minute I saw the plate and your attaching a garden stick I was fascinated! Thank you fir sharing your creative crafty ideas with us. 💕. So inspirational!

I've moved to New Brunswick and it's really windy here a lot. These pieces end up being pretty heavy so I'm going to give them a try. I'm thinking they'll be a bit sheltered closer to the house
@linstaley96833 жыл бұрын
@@MyCraftyDen I do have a more sheltered area up by my greenhouse I could try. I have so many glass items in my garage that would be nice, I might as well use them for this. This will be fun. Thank you. I love this.🤗

I've been watching several videos and a lot of crafters like an expoxy glue over e6000 what is your opinion? A lot drill holes in the glass, I really hesitate doing it that way, (I don't trust myself!) so using glue appeals to me more. Thanks! 😊
@MyCraftyDen3 ай бұрын
I made my first pieces in 2018 and used E6000. Those pieces have stayed outside since. Except for a few pieces that got knocked over and broke, I still have them. I moved a few pieces with me to New Brunswick in 2020 and the glue is still strong on those ones. I found first tube of E6000 at Canadian Tire and a mechanic said it was used to hold pieces onto the exterior of cars. Living in Canada that was all the endorsement I needed.

Did the ceramic plate stay together? I know with glass it can be left out in the winter but almost everything that was ceramic the glaze came away from the rest of the dish.

Exactly what kind of adhesive do you use and will it be sustainable outdoors in any weather or temperature? I appreciate your kind reply and thank you for your inspirations.
@MyCraftyDen4 жыл бұрын
Brigitte Brown. I use E600. I buy mine in the automotive department of the hardware store. I have left pieces on the garden year round and we get extremely hot and cold. Also a ton of snow. I haven't had any separations yet.

@@MyCraftyDen Much gratitude for sharing your knowledge. Is this stronger than Gorilla Glue? I want to make sure the bottles will carry the heavy flowers...
@christys84454 жыл бұрын
@@brigittebrown1924 Yes. Use E6000 or a silicone epoxy. Gorilla glue will not stand up to outside weather in time.
