Very intersting. Clearly Offshore Citizen produces a revenue by explaining and advising on the international taxation arbitrage. Clearly a global minimum tax would diminish the options therefore the library of advices and therefore the potential revenue from advising. On the other hand, globalization is under attack and so is any system that, in theory, would benefit all nations ... just look at how much difficulty we are having with the climate change. However, the maneuvering, the "logic", and the theatrics are entertaining,

On the other note, tax is far from the only thing we advise our clients on. We help people with relocation, second citizenships, investment options and those will always be appealing regardless of the tax situation. For lots of people tax is far from the only concern when they plan their life. It's one piece of the puzzle, but far from the only one. We shall see what happens with the global tax.

@@OffshoreCitizen speaking of second citizenships, what if a dual citizen renounced citizenship in their home country then applied to return as a permanent resident? Wouldn't that provide the benefit of being able to spend 5-6 months per year in their country of origin without being taxed on foreign-source income as a resident citizen?

Your tax residency has nothing to do with your citizenship (unless you're an American). You can keep your citizenship, but you shouldn't spend 6 months or more in the country where you don't want to be taxed. Every country has their own way of determining whether you're a tax resident or not, but as a general rule if you spend 6 months or more, they will tax you. This happens regardless of your citizenship/s, it has to do with tax residency

It's more embarrassing when one has pro US/EU/UK position. Hungary has been in better situation thanks to Orban, compared to the rest of EU and UK. This tells you who in EU among leaders really care about the people of his country, and who don't.
